GeekStorage is a US web hosting company based in Norman, Oklahoma, with a history dating to 2007. The business was founded by Matt Eli and Jay Higdon, who had already worked together in the hosting industry before establishing GeekStorage. The company operates as GeekStorage.com, LLC and has an unusual ownership structure for the hosting market, being 100% employee-owned rather than part of a large hosting conglomerate.

Over the years, GeekStorage has built a fairly complete hosting portfolio covering Unlimited Shared Hosting, Performance Hosting, Reseller Hosting, VPS, Dedicated Servers, WordPress Hosting, CloudLinux Hosting, LiteSpeed Hosting, domain registration and SSL certificates. This provides a practical upgrade path from an inexpensive shared account to KVM virtual servers and eventually dedicated physical hardware.

The company has hosted more than 20,000 websites and maintains hosting infrastructure in the United States and Germany. The service mix is particularly suitable for customers who want traditional cPanel hosting combined with modern resource isolation, SSD storage and LiteSpeed acceleration.

Unlimited Hosting is the simplest entry-level service. Economy includes unlimited SSD storage and bandwidth, hosting for three domains, Site.Pro website builder access, daily JetBackup backups and automatic SSL through cPanel. Deluxe removes the three-domain limitation, while Business increases the available server resources and includes a dedicated IP address and a commercial Comodo PositiveSSL certificate in addition to automatic SSL.

The unlimited designation applies to storage and data transfer, while normal shared-hosting resource limits remain in place. Economy and Deluxe accounts receive approximately one CPU core, 1 GB RAM and 200,000 inodes. Business increases this to two CPU cores, 2 GB RAM and 400,000 inodes. CPU, RAM, I/O, process and inode limits therefore remain important when choosing between the plans.

The shared platform combines SSD storage, LiteSpeed Web Server, CloudLinux, MariaDB, Imunify360, ModSecurity, Softaculous, Cloudflare integration, Site.Pro and cPanel. Daily off-site backups are handled through JetBackup. The backup service is an additional safeguard rather than a replacement for customer-maintained backups, and accounts exceeding certain resource thresholds can be subject to backup limitations.

Performance Hosting is designed for websites that need more predictable server resources. It is available from both US and European infrastructure. PX-1 includes 10 GB SSD storage, unlimited bandwidth, three hosted websites, 1 GB guaranteed RAM and one CPU core. PX-2 increases this to 20 GB storage, 1.5 GB RAM and two CPU cores, while PX-3 provides 40 GB storage, 2 GB RAM and two CPU cores.

Performance plans receive significantly higher disk I/O allocations than regular shared accounts, including up to 4096 IOPS. This makes them better suited to WordPress installations, database-driven websites and applications where processing and storage performance matter more than unlimited disk capacity.

The separate WordPress Hosting, CloudLinux Hosting and LiteSpeed Hosting services use the same Performance Hosting resource structure. They combine SSD storage, LiteSpeed, CloudLinux, cPanel, automatic SSL and daily backups while focusing on different aspects of the platform. WordPress users benefit from the higher resource limits, while CloudLinux improves account isolation and LiteSpeed provides faster web serving and caching capabilities.

Reseller Hosting is aimed at web designers, agencies and hosting resellers that need independent cPanel accounts for their customers. Entry includes 30 GB SSD storage, 1 TB monthly bandwidth, two dedicated IP addresses and up to 30 cPanel accounts. Prime increases this to 40 GB storage, 1.5 TB bandwidth and 40 accounts, while Ultimate provides 50 GB, 2 TB and up to 50 accounts.

Reseller administration uses WHM, with individual cPanel access available for hosted customers. Overselling is permitted, and ClientExec can be included for billing and provisioning. A WHMCS discount is also available. Free migration support can transfer existing WHM accounts, which makes the reseller service practical for businesses moving an established customer base.

VPS Hosting uses KVM virtualization with RAID-10 SSD storage. The smallest VPS includes 1 GB RAM, one CPU core, 24 GB SSD storage, 2 TB bandwidth and two IP addresses. Larger configurations scale through 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB RAM, reaching up to eight CPU cores and 384 GB SSD storage.

VPS customers can choose self-managed hosting or add Basic or Premium management. Managed service can cover initial configuration, security hardening and general server administration, while the higher management level adds backup resources and continuous monitoring.

Optional software for VPS services includes cPanel/WHM, Plesk and DirectAdmin, together with products such as CloudLinux, LiteSpeed, ClientExec and WHMCS.

The VPS infrastructure has undergone an important modernization. The large 2024 infrastructure migration introduced SolusVM for migrated virtual servers and moved many cPanel VPS systems from older CentOS installations to AlmaLinux 8. Some older VPS documentation still reflects the previous OnApp environment, so newly provisioned VPS customers should rely on the current server configuration associated with their service.

Dedicated Servers provide complete physical hardware with root-level control and IPMI remote management. Customers can add cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin and can request customized processors, memory, storage, additional IP addressing and private networking.

Dedicated hardware uses enterprise server components, including Supermicro and Intel equipment. Typical servers can be provisioned within approximately one business day, although customized hardware naturally requires additional preparation.

Dedicated servers can remain fully self-managed or use Premium management. Managed service covers operating-system and control-panel administration, security hardening, software maintenance, migration assistance, continuous monitoring and remote backup storage.

GeekStorage also provides domain registration for common extensions such as .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz and .us, together with many additional extensions available through its domain platform. Some qualifying annual shared-hosting purchases include a one-year .com registration.

SSL certificates are available separately, including Comodo PositiveSSL. Regular hosting accounts already support automatic SSL, so a paid certificate is mainly useful when a specific commercial certificate is required.

Free website migration is available across several hosting categories and is particularly convenient for customers moving from another cPanel-based hosting provider.

The website and customer service environment are primarily English, while product pricing is denominated in US dollars.

Some older technical information remains alongside newer infrastructure configurations, particularly around the previous OnApp VPS environment and services discontinued during later migrations. The core hosting platform itself has continued moving toward newer virtualization, operating systems, security tools and backup systems.
