Gcore is a global edge AI, cloud, network, and security provider headquartered in Contern, Luxembourg and active since 2014. They have grown out of a gaming and media background into a broad infrastructure platform aimed at latency-sensitive workloads such as online games, streaming services, financial applications, and modern AI deployments.

Their backbone is a large private network with more than 210 points of presence and 50+ cloud locations worldwide, backed by over 200 Tbps of total capacity and extensive peering. Traffic is carried through Tier III and Tier IV data centers, with an average global response time around tens of milliseconds. For hosting customers, this means content and applications can be placed physically close to users across Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia.

On the compute side, Gcore operates a broad edge cloud portfolio. Standard virtual instances (VMs) come in several families (general purpose, CPU-optimized, RAM-optimized, high frequency, etc.) with Linux and Windows images, SSD-based storage, private networking, load balancing, and free egress traffic from the cloud in many scenarios. Bare metal servers are available in numerous locations, with modern Intel Xeon platforms, 1–10 Gbit/s ports, hardware RAID, and options for additional IPs and DDoS protection. Deployment is typically fast enough for practical on-demand usage.

Gcore also runs an AI/GPU cloud, combining bare-metal and virtual machines built around NVIDIA GPUs. These resources integrate with managed Kubernetes, object storage, and logging, so training, fine-tuning, and inference workloads can run within the same environment. For organizations that want to build their own AI clouds, Gcore offers an AI Cloud Stack that turns GPU clusters into multi-tenant infrastructure under a single control plane.

On the network and content delivery side, Gcore provides a full edge stack: a global CDN, video streaming platform, Managed DNS, and FastEdge (edge functions). CDN plans include SSL, HTTP/2/3, image optimization, on-demand WAAP (web application & API protection) integration, and an anycast architecture across their 210+ PoPs. Managed DNS is anycast as well, with GeoDNS, advanced load balancing, DNSSEC (beta), health checks, and integrations with Terraform, Kubernetes ExternalDNS, Certbot, and OctoDNS.

Security is a separate product family. Gcore offers L3/L4 DDoS protection, a WAAP solution bundling WAF, application-layer DDoS, bot management, and API security, and DDoS-protected DNS. These components can be layered on top of cloud, hosting, and CDN, which is attractive for gaming and financial services where uptime under attack is as critical as pure performance.

Traditional hosting is covered through virtual dedicated servers (VDS/VPS) and dedicated servers under the Hosting section. VDS plans use KVM virtualization and SSD storage, with options for IPv6, firewalls, snapshots, and OS templates. Dedicated servers target more demanding applications, providing full root access, IPMI, optional advanced DDoS protection, and a 99.9% SLA in many locations. There is no classic low-budget "cPanel shared hosting" offer; the portfolio is clearly aimed at developers, DevOps teams, and companies comfortable managing their own stack.

Overall, Gcore is a multi-product infrastructure vendor than a simple hosting provider. Someone looking for a single WordPress site may find the platform overpowered, but businesses building global applications, SaaS platforms, or AI-powered services benefit from having CDN, cloud, AI and security sitting on the same edge network and in the same account.
