Elbia Hosting is a Slovak web hosting company established in 2007 in Banská Bystrica. The business began as a small family operation built around Linux administration, programming, open-source technologies, server management, and information security. Jozef Sudolský is one of its founders and remains closely connected to the company’s technical direction.

The ownership structure now includes VNET, which holds a 51% interest, while Jozef Sudolský and Michal Sudolský each retain 24.5%. Elbia continues to operate under its own name, with its own hosting platform, customer administration system, product portfolio, and office in Banská Bystrica.

The service range covers domain registration, shared hosting, WordPress hosting, VPS, virtual dedicated servers, dedicated servers, and managed physical servers. This creates a practical upgrade path for customers who begin with a small website and later require more storage, isolated server resources, or fully managed infrastructure.

Standard shared hosting is divided into packages suitable for one, two, or as many as ten websites. Every package includes unlimited email accounts, while storage capacity and the number of websites increase with each plan. The higher packages are suitable for companies, developers, and agencies managing several domains from one account.

The WordPress range provides more storage and larger website allowances. These packages work well for business websites, blogs, development projects, agencies, and WooCommerce stores. Daily backups, server-side security controls, email filtering, and assistance with website migration make the service accessible even to customers without advanced hosting experience.

VPS and virtual dedicated server services provide isolated computing resources and greater control over software, operating systems, firewall rules, and application configuration. Resources can be expanded as a website or application grows. Customers can also order dedicated physical hardware, either as a self-managed server or with administration handled by Elbia.

Managed-server customers receive help with operating-system preparation, software installation, service configuration, monitoring, maintenance, security, and hardware problems. Dedicated configurations are prepared according to the workload instead of being limited to a large collection of fixed public packages.

Elbia also operates subHoster, a white-label hosting platform intended for web designers, agencies, freelancers, Internet service providers, and smaller hosting companies. Partners can sell hosting, domains, email, and VPS services under their own brands without purchasing or maintaining the underlying infrastructure.

The subHoster platform automates customer registration, orders, invoicing, payments, service activation, renewals, notifications, discount coupons, and account suspension. It also includes a SOAP API and programming libraries for PHP and Python, making it suitable for partners that want to connect hosting services to their own websites or business systems.

Security is an important part of the hosting environment. Hosting accounts include web application firewall protection, antivirus scanning, email antivirus and antispam filtering, daily backups, service monitoring, and regularly maintained server software. Suspicious web activity can be detected and escalated to administrators before it becomes a larger problem.

Website migration assistance is included without an additional service fee. Elbia can transfer website files, databases, email accounts, and DNS settings from another provider. A normal migration may require a short interruption while the final data is copied, settings are adjusted, and the website is tested on the new account.

Its Green Hosting approach combines energy-efficient server hardware, electronic documents, reduced paper use, and recovery of heat generated by servers. Recovered heat has also been used for heating a residential property.

The footer still displays an older copyright year, some references to the company’s age no longer align precisely with the 2007 foundation date, and the principal legal documents originate from 2008.
