eCompute is a Romanian cloud infrastructure and server hosting provider operated by HOSTGW SRL, a company established in 2016 and headquartered in Buftea, Ilfov. Its activity is focused primarily on KVM VPS / Cloud Servers and Dedicated Bare-Metal Servers, making it more suitable for developers, system administrators and businesses that need direct server access than for customers looking for conventional shared hosting.

The company serves more than 9,000 customers and concentrates on European infrastructure. Its website is available in English, Romanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, German, Greek, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish and Ukrainian. English is the legally binding version, while the additional languages are automatically translated. Services are priced primarily in EUR.

The main product range consists of KVM VPS instances using NVMe storage. VPS configurations begin with smaller servers equipped with 1 CPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB NVMe storage and 2 TB traffic and extend to substantially larger systems with 8 CPUs, 32 GB RAM, 200 GB NVMe storage and 20 TB traffic. This covers smaller web projects, development environments and VPN applications as well as databases, business applications and more resource-intensive server workloads.

VPS provisioning is generally completed within minutes. Customers receive two free weekly backups, while the management dashboard allows server reinstalls, SSH-key deployment and resource upgrades without requiring migration to a completely different server. This makes expansion relatively straightforward when additional CPU, memory or storage becomes necessary.

Dedicated Servers provide single-tenant hardware from Bulgaria. The range uses Intel Xeon processors, SSD storage and shared unmetered 1 Gbps network connectivity. Entry configurations start with Xeon E3 hardware and 16 GB RAM, while more powerful systems use dual Xeon E5 processors. At the upper end, configurations include dual Xeon Gold 6148 processors with 40 CPU cores, 256 GB RAM and 2 × 4 TB SSD storage.

Dedicated servers usually require several hours for provisioning, with a maximum delivery time of up to 24 hours depending on hardware availability. Additional IP addresses, network configuration, remote administration and recovery options are also available. Hardware replacement, upgrades and network-related work are handled through technical support.

Both VPS and dedicated servers are unmanaged. eCompute maintains the underlying hardware, virtualization platform and network, while customers remain responsible for their operating systems, application configuration, databases and installed software. This model is well suited to experienced users who prefer full administrative control but less appropriate for beginners expecting complete server management.

Account security includes two-factor authentication and SSH-key management. Port 25 is restricted by default and can be opened following a support request, helping reduce spam and abuse from newly activated servers.

The current range remains deliberately infrastructure-focused. Traditional shared hosting, reseller hosting, domain registration and website-builder packages are not part of the main commercial portfolio.
