UbicName .com is DTI's domain registration and mail-forwarding service for members who want a personal or organizational domain name, with registration handled through GMO Internet's Onamae.com as registrar infrastructure. For the CSV domain product, only the .com registration plan is listed as required; the same price class also covers .net and .org, while .jp is a higher-price extension. The first-year .com, .net, and .org domain acquisition fee is 1886 JPY tax included, and the second-year and later renewal fee is also 1886 JPY tax included. The .jp acquisition and renewal fee is 3982 JPY tax included. DTI itself states that it does not charge a separate UbicName service fee, but domain acquisition and renewal costs are billed together with DTI basic service charges. The service allows a desired domain to be acquired and used for email addresses, with mail addressed to the acquired domain automatically forwarded to specified email addresses. Three forwarding destinations are free; from the fourth forwarding address onward, charges apply in blocks of three addresses at 110 JPY per month, calculated based on the maximum forwarding settings used during the month. Registration is performed from MyDTI service addition under the UbicName service, and account changes are handled through the UbicName control panel. Allowed domain characters are lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphen, and the domain name must be 3 to 34 characters. Once registered, a domain name cannot be changed or transferred to a third party through the service. Registered personal, corporate, or organization name information is published in Whois. The domain term is one year and renews automatically unless cancellation is completed by the automatic renewal date, 15 days before the domain expiration date. DTI sends a notice to the contact email address 60 days before expiration. Applications cannot be cancelled after completion, domain renewal cannot be cancelled after renewal processing, and already paid acquisition or renewal fees are not refunded when cancellation occurs within a year. UbicName does not provide a web hosting service for the acquired domain by itself; web publication is described only in combination with eligible older ServersMan@VPS Entry, Standard, or Pro plans, while Basic VPS plans cannot use UbicName.
