📄 Editorial Review
Domovanje.com was one of Slovenia’s longest-running domain and web-hosting brands. Its roots went back to 2000, when the service developed as a hosting project within the Klaro web-agency team. Uroš Čimžar was among the people who co-founded and developed the project, which became a separate hosting company in 2005.Domovanje gradually established a strong position among Slovenian individuals, small businesses, online stores, developers and web agencies. The company operated under Webtasy, d.o.o. during its later years and shared its ownership, infrastructure and support organization with Domenca. Both brands became part of the wider DHH technology group.
Domovanje.com became inactive as an independent hosting brand in June 2026. The account migration began on June 2, 2026, and the transfer of the final customers was completed on June 4, 2026. More than 28,000 users were moved to Domenca, including their active subscriptions, invoices, account settings, contacts and other service data.
The transition did not require customers to migrate their websites or email accounts manually. Websites, mailboxes and other online services continued operating during the transfer, while the existing service conditions remained unchanged. The same technical and customer-support organization continued managing the transferred accounts.
This was therefore a planned brand consolidation rather than the collapse of the underlying hosting business. Domovanje and Domenca had already been delivering practically identical services through the same company and team. Domenca had become the stronger and more recognizable brand in Slovenia, so maintaining two separate storefronts and customer systems no longer offered a meaningful advantage.
Domovanje.com now redirects to Domenca, and former Domovanje customers manage their accounts and services through Domenca’s customer systems. The old brand can no longer be used for new independent orders.
During its final operating period, Domovanje offered domain registration, shared hosting, reseller hosting, cloud VPS, managed cloud hosting, SSL certificates and email services. The catalog was particularly suitable for customers who wanted a practical Slovenian hosting provider rather than a large international public-cloud platform.
The former Shared Hosting range consisted of three straightforward packages. These plans used LiteSpeed web servers, NVMe SSD storage, cPanel and free SSL certificates, together with support for more than 200 website applications. The smallest package was intended for one basic website, the middle package supported several company or project sites, and the largest package allowed unlimited websites and was suitable for more demanding installations and online stores.
The shared environment offered the familiar features expected from a mature cPanel platform, including email accounts, databases, FTP access, subdomains, DNS administration, file management, cron jobs, application installation and SSL management. LiteSpeed and LSCache provided a useful performance advantage for WordPress and other PHP-based websites.
The Reseller Hosting service was more flexible than a conventional fixed-package range. Customers could select the required storage allocation and number of cPanel accounts, which made the service useful for freelancers, web designers and agencies that managed websites for several clients.
Reseller accounts included unlimited domains, FTP accounts, databases and email accounts, together with free SSL certificates, backups, file management, cron administration and raw access logs. The hosting environment supported common content-management and e-commerce systems such as WordPress, Joomla, Magento and PrestaShop.
The unmanaged Cloud VPS range provided a clear upgrade path for customers who had outgrown shared hosting. Configurations ranged from approximately 1 GB to 24 GB RAM, 20 GB to 500 GB of NVMe storage and 1 to 16 virtual processors. Plans included unlimited traffic, a 100 Mbps connection, IPv4, IPv6 support and full root access.
Linux was the standard operating-system choice, while Windows Server could be added for an additional charge. These VPS packages were best suited to developers, system administrators and companies capable of maintaining their own operating system, security updates and server applications.
The Managed Cloud Hosting range added active infrastructure management to isolated cloud resources. These packages included daily backups, continuous monitoring, operating-system maintenance, regular updates and a monthly allowance of system-administration work. Customers could use cPanel or Plesk, depending on their preferred hosting environment.
Managed cloud hosting was one of the stronger parts of the Domovanje portfolio. It gave businesses and agencies dedicated resources without forcing them to assume complete responsibility for server maintenance. The service was particularly relevant for online stores, business applications and agencies hosting several important customer projects.
Domain registration remained another central part of the business. Domovanje supported a large selection of international and country-code extensions and held a particularly strong position in the Slovenian .si domain market. Customers could register and transfer domains, manage DNS records, receive renewal reminders and administer multiple names from one account.
Commercial SSL options included PositiveSSL, PositiveSSL Wildcard and EV SSL certificates. Regular hosting accounts also included free SSL certificates, making separately purchased certificates primarily relevant for wildcard coverage, extended validation or more specialized business requirements.
Domovanje operated in Slovenian and English, making the service accessible to both local customers and international users. Prices were displayed in EUR and included Slovenian VAT.
By the time the brands were consolidated, the surviving operation had surpassed 80,000 registered domains. It managed more than 1,800 servers across five countries and employed approximately 26 specialists working in web technologies, infrastructure and customer support.
