*📜 Plan description
DNS Exit provides a Failover and Systems Monitoring service designed to keep websites and online applications available even during outages. The system constantly monitors services from multiple geographic locations to reduce the chance of false alarms due to temporary network disruptions. If the primary IP address or service becomes unresponsive, DNS Exit can automatically reroute traffic to a backup IP address or page, minimizing downtime. Once the primary service is operational again, traffic is automatically restored.
Pricing Structure (Per Host, Per Year)
1–5 hosts: $9.99 each
6–10 hosts: $8.99 each
11–25 hosts: $6.99 each
26–50 hosts: $4.49 each
51+ hosts: $3.99 each
Key Features
Multi-location monitoring: Checks from at least three geographic nodes to confirm failures, avoiding false positives caused by localized network issues.
Customizable failover: Supports up to four backup IP addresses.
Automatic restoration: Returns traffic to the original IP when it comes back online, based on user-defined monitoring preferences.
Custom notifications: Ability to edit email alerts and subjects, allowing direct notifications to ISPs or administrators.
Flexible protocol monitoring: Can check service health across TCP, UDP, SMTP, HTTP, or HTTPS, on any port.
Continuous verification: Before redirecting, the system verifies that the backup IP is responsive to avoid additional downtime.
The monitoring node checks services at intervals specified by the user, ensuring minimal disruption. The failover function is applied directly to DNS A records, with configuration options accessible through DNS Exit’s control panel. This allows easy setup of backup IPs, monitoring protocols, and contact lists for outage alerts, offering a robust safeguard for businesses that rely on continuous online availability.

📄 Editorial Review
DNSExit.com is a long-running U.S. DNS, domain, email, and low-cost hosting provider operated by Netdorm, Inc., based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Netdorm has infrastructure roots going back to 1999, while DNSExit started in August 2001 as a specialized DNS provider focused on dynamic DNS and managed DNS for users working with changing IP addresses. This is not a typical modern shared-hosting company built mainly around site builders and mass-market WordPress packages. DNSExit’s strongest identity is still technical utility hosting: Dynamic DNS, Managed DNS, DNS Failover, Systems Monitoring, Domain Registration, Email Hosting, SMTP Relay, Backup MX, Email Forwarding, SSL, WordPress Hosting, Web Hosting, and KVM VPS Hosting. The service is especially useful for technical customers, home-server users, developers, small businesses, and anyone needing practical DNS/mail routing tools rather than only a polished beginner dashboard.
Their DNS service remains the core product. DNSExit supports dynamic DNS for custom domains, standard DNS hosting, DNSSEC, API-based updates, web forwarding, MX management, failover, monitoring, and dynamic-IP use cases for home servers, cameras, DVRs, FTP, mail servers, and websites. This makes the company more relevant for users who want to keep services reachable behind residential or small-business internet connections.
The hosting portfolio is broader than expected from a DNS-first provider. Shared hosting includes Basic, Standard, and Premium plans with POP3/IMAP mailboxes, FTP, SSH/SFTP, MySQL databases, web statistics, website tools, and lifetime SSL. WordPress hosting adds a simplified route for small WordPress sites, with one-click setup, free SSL, temporary development subdomain, unlimited bandwidth, email, FTP, and database access. VPS hosting is based on KVM and SSD RAID storage, with entry plans starting from 2 GB RAM and scaling up to 12 GB RAM.
Email is another important part of the business. DNSExit covers Business Email, SMTP relay, Email Redirection / Forwarding, and Backup MX. Their SMTP relay is useful when an ISP blocks standard outbound mail ports, while Backup MX can queue inbound mail during primary mail-server downtime. For customers running their own mail servers, these services are more practical than many generic web-hosting add-ons.
The company profile is mixed. DNSExit has a long operating history, useful technical products, and low pricing. At the same time, the website and account experience are old-style, with a dated interface, utility-first layout, and limited modern polish. The customer feedback profile is also uneven: some long-time users praise the DNS tools and pricing, while others complain about support, outages, or reliability. A serious registrar-side caution also exists: ICANN listed a 25 September 2025 Notice of Breach for Netdorm, Inc. dba DnsExit.com, involving registrar-compliance issues such as data escrow, RDAP, accreditation fees, and required registrar information. This does not cancel the value of DNSExit’s DNS/email services, but customers with valuable domain portfolios should verify current registrar status before consolidating domains there.
The website language is English, and product pricing is in USD. No strong multilingual/localized website version was found.

😁 I've been using DNS Exit and their free dns services for 18 years. Wow...now I feel old lol. With DNS Exit I just set my dns files and forget them. I point my domains to DNS Exit nameservers and that's it. Never have had a problem in all this time.
