DepositFiles, operating through dfiles.com and depositfiles.com, is an international cloud file-storage and transfer platform active since 2006. Its services focus on uploading, storing, distributing, and downloading large files rather than traditional web hosting products such as shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, domain registration, or website-building plans.

The company operates through dfiles.com, depositfiles.com, and depositfiles.org. These official domains are especially important because imitation download services have previously used similar names and visual layouts.

Free accounts support individual files of up to 10 GB, with no fixed limit on the number of uploaded files. Registered users receive access to a proprietary file manager, password-protected download links, deletion controls, remote uploads, FTP uploads, and tools for organizing files into folders. Uploading is also possible without registration, although an account provides considerably better control over stored content.

Registered files normally remain available for 90 days. Each successful download renews the storage period for another 90 days, making the platform suitable for files that continue to receive regular traffic. Files that breach copyright rules, applicable law, or the user agreement may be removed immediately.

Free downloading is intended primarily for occasional use. It includes a waiting period, CAPTCHA verification, reduced priority, speed restrictions, and limitations on simultaneous downloads from the same IP address. Free users can generally download approximately 15 GB per day, although actual availability depends on network demand, file popularity, server load, and the quality of the user’s Internet connection.

The paid Gold Account removes advertisements and waiting periods while providing priority bandwidth, resumable downloads, download-manager compatibility, and multiple simultaneous connections. Gold users receive the maximum speed available between their connection and the DepositFiles network. A technical limitation may be introduced after approximately 200 GB of downloads in one day.

Files can be uploaded directly through a browser, transferred through FTP, or retrieved remotely from HTTP and FTP servers. The service has also operated a dedicated FTP upload server in the United States, providing an alternative route for large or repeated transfers.

The proprietary FileManager handles uploads, folders, file links, deletion links, and access protection. Account holders can also manage Gold subscriptions, payment records, activation keys, personal information, support messages, and loyalty rewards from the same interface.

The U-Points loyalty system rewards registered users when unique free users download their files. Points can be converted into Gold access keys, with 200 points providing 24 hours, 1,000 points providing two weeks, and 5,000 points providing one month. These activation keys may be used later, transferred to another account, or given to another person.

Additional functionality includes image and video previews, archive previews for eligible accounts, browser-based multi-stream downloading, and a separate mobile interface. The overall design remains noticeably dated and retains several conventions associated with older file-sharing platforms. It is functional and generally easy to understand, although it lacks the cleaner workflow and modern presentation available from newer cloud-storage services.

A multilingual interface is available, while the English version of the legal agreement remains controlling whenever translations differ.

DepositFiles uses automated filtering, copyright takedown procedures, abuse reporting, and repeat-infringer restrictions. Publicly shared download links may be inspected for compliance, while private account files receive a higher degree of confidentiality.

Privacy measures include encryption of personal information, geographically separated encryption keys, pseudonymization where practical, and account tools for requesting personal-data deletion. IP-related records may remain recoverable for at least six months after the user’s last activity. Payment-card numbers are processed by external payment providers and are not stored directly by DepositFiles.
