Datec's data center is one of the earlier facilities of its kind in Papua New Guinea and has supported hosting services for more than 15 years. The facility is intended for medium and large organizations and is characterized as highly secure and energy efficient, with uptime above 99.99%. The wider environment includes hosted network-security capabilities, secure backup, archiving and data-protection services. Datec PNG Limited is one of Papua New Guinea's longest-established ICT companies, founded in 1985 and headquartered in Port Moresby. Its business goes well beyond conventional web hosting, combining Internet connectivity, website and email hosting, data-center services, cloud infrastructure, networking, managed IT, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, hardware, software licensing, training and retail services under one organization.Datec has more than 220 employees working across technical, support, sales and operational roles. Its presence extends beyond Port Moresby through locations serving Lae, Goroka, Mount Hagen, Madang, Kokopo, Alotau and Wewak. This nationwide footprint gives businesses in Papua New Guinea access to local technical expertise and onsite assistance rather than relying exclusively on remote support.
Datec is wholly owned by Telikom PNG Limited (telikom.com.pg). The transition into the Telikom group occurred during 2014-2015. Papua New Guinea Auditor-General records place Telikom's full acquisition of Datec from Steamships Trading Company Limited (steamships.com.pg) on August 1, 2014, while later Telikom financial statements account for the 100% acquisition on August 5, 2015 with a purchase consideration of K36 million.
For conventional website customers, Datec provides cPanel hosting for websites, domains and email. Storage packages range from 1 GB through 500 GB, covering basic company websites through substantially larger hosting requirements. Static IPv4 addresses are available as an additional monthly service, while customers can also obtain .com.pg domain registration and Premium Mail Protection.
Datec's higher-end infrastructure services are more business-oriented than a typical budget hosting catalog. Its portfolio includes cloud services, equipment colocation, physical and virtual disaster recovery, business continuity facilities, managed networking and customized ICT solutions. VPS and dedicated-server resources are handled more as tailored enterprise infrastructure rather than through a public catalog of fixed CPU, RAM and storage configurations.
Internet connectivity is another major part of the company. Services include residential and office Internet, corporate contended and uncontended connections, Dedicated Internet Access, Metro Area Ethernet, point-to-point links, managed connectivity, cloud-managed networking, SD-WAN and email-security services.

English is the website language and no multi-language/localized version exists. Commercial hosting and ISP services are mainly priced in Papua New Guinea Kina (PGK/K).
The company does still have some generic USD packages within parts of its Internet section that do not correspond well with its current PNG Kina service brochures.
