DataBank is a U.S.-based data center and hybrid infrastructure provider, not a traditional shared hosting company. It started in 2005 in the former Federal Reserve Bank Building in downtown Dallas, Texas, which still houses both the headquarters and a major data center. From that single highly secure facility the company has grown into a national platform with dozens of data centers, several million square feet of raised floor, and close to a gigawatt of critical IT power across major U.S. metros, plus a presence in the United Kingdom.

The focus is firmly on colocation, interconnection, cloud and bare metal, and a deep layer of managed and security services. Rather than selling pre-packaged shared hosting plans, DataBank is built for enterprises, SaaS vendors, network operators, AI and HPC workloads, and public-sector or regulated customers that need serious capacity, high availability and compliance.

Colocation is a core pillar. Facilities support multi-tenant cabinets, private cages and dedicated suites, including high-density colocation for GPU and AI use cases. Power, space and cooling are engineered for resilience: redundant UPS and generators, diverse power paths and cooling systems sized for dense racks. Many sites act as carrier hubs with strong carrier presence and direct on-ramps into major public clouds. Customers can rely on 24×7 staffing, remote-hands and smart-hands services and a facility-level uptime commitment that aims at uninterrupted availability.

Interconnection is treated as its own offering. Cross-connects, IP transit, cloud connectivity and an interconnection marketplace turn DataBank locations into regional hubs where companies can tie together carriers, ISPs, partners and clouds with low latency. For businesses building multi-cloud or hybrid architectures, this is more valuable than basic "space and power".

Alongside colocation, DataBank operates its own cloud and bare metal platform. Enterprise virtual cloud services, private cloud options, object and block storage and specialized regulated-cloud environments (including FedRAMP-authorized offerings for U.S. federal workloads) sit alongside dedicated bare metal servers. Customers that want to get out of the day-to-day data center and system administration business can lean heavily on these services, while still retaining control of their applications and data.

Compliance and sustainability are both prominent. Facilities and services are structured to support FedRAMP, HIPAA/HITECH, PCI-DSS, GDPR and multiple SOC/SSAE18 and ISO standards. At the same time, DataBank has a published goal to reach net-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 and describes a design philosophy around efficient cooling, improved PUE, smart lighting and selective use of renewable power. For organizations that have to satisfy both regulators and internal ESG targets, that combination is important.
