📄 Editorial Review

CROWEB.HOST / Croatian Web Hosting is a Croatian hosting and data-center provider operated by Control Engineering d.o.o. from Zagreb. The company was established in 2013, building on more than 15 years of technical experience in web hosting, server administration, domains and Internet security. Slađan Ilić is the founder, owner and director of Control Engineering.

The company has developed into a compact but technically capable hosting operation with more than 1,200 customers, around 250 HPE servers, approximately 3,000 IP addresses and about 900 hosted websites. One of its strongest advantages is direct control over the infrastructure: CROWEB.HOST operates its own data center in Zagreb, Croatia, where its hosting, VPS, dedicated-server and colocation platforms are located.

Its portfolio is considerably broader than conventional shared hosting and covers Cloud Web Hosting, Reseller Hosting, Linux VPS, Windows VPS, Dedicated Servers, Blade Servers, Workstation Blade Servers, Colocation, Domains, SSL Certificates, Cloud Storage, Backups, Managed Services, VPN, Remote Hands, additional bandwidth and IP resources, and website maintenance. Domain services cover more than 700 TLD extensions through registrar partners.

The company operates mainly in English for international hosting customers, while Control Engineering also serves the Croatian market in Croatian. Hosting and infrastructure products are priced in EUR.

Cloud Web Hosting is divided into five plans: Web Micro, Starter, Advanced, Ultimate and Corporate. The smallest Web Micro package includes 1 GB of RAID-protected storage and 50 GB of monthly bandwidth, while higher plans progressively increase storage, traffic, website allowances, databases and email capacity. Web Ultimate provides 10 GB storage and 500 GB transfer for up to ten websites, while Corporate reaches 50 GB storage, 1 TB traffic and support for as many as 20 websites.

Shared hosting accounts include Virtualmin Professional, email hosting, databases, FTP access, SSL support, scheduled backups and application installation. Daily, weekly and monthly backup options are available depending on the package. Network-level protection includes anti-DDoS measures and proactive firewall protection.

Reseller Hosting is intended for web designers, agencies and users managing hosting for multiple customers. Separate Micro, Starter, Advanced and Ultimate configurations provide increasingly larger allocations of disk space, bandwidth and customer accounts. The environment is white-label friendly and uses Virtualmin Professional for account and website administration.

The Linux VPS platform uses KVM virtualization together with Virtualizor. Configurations begin with the small Nano VPS and scale through progressively larger CPU, RAM, SSD and bandwidth allocations up to Corporate-class instances. Customers receive full root access, Croatian IPv4 addresses and a broad selection of Linux distributions including AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS-family systems.

Windows VPS uses the same KVM and Virtualizor architecture, with full administrator access through RDP. Available Microsoft operating systems include Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022 and Windows Server 2025, together with Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB/LTSC and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC. Standard Starter, Advanced, Ultimate and Corporate configurations are complemented by customizable VPS resources.

Dedicated hosting is based primarily on HPE ProLiant equipment. The range includes conventional Dedicated Startup, Business and Ultimate servers, customizable systems, Blade ONE through Blade FOUR configurations and workstation-class blade servers. Depending on the hardware generation, customers receive HPE iLO Advanced remote-management capability along with SATA, SAS or SSD storage options.

For businesses that prefer to own their physical hardware, Colocation is available in 1U, 2U, 4U and tower-server configurations. Additional rack space and power can also be arranged, making the service suitable for everything from a single colocated appliance to larger business infrastructure.

SSL services cover certificates from Sectigo, SSL.com and Certum. DV, OV, EV and wildcard certificates are available, with CSR generation and installation included without an additional installation fee.

Additional services make the portfolio particularly useful for business customers. Fully managed OwnCloud and Nextcloud storage begins with small capacities and can be expanded as required. Separate server and VPS backup services, VPN connectivity using technologies such as OpenVPN and WireGuard, dedicated-server setup, remote hands, additional IPv4 addresses, extra bandwidth, network-link upgrades, website optimization and ongoing website maintenance are also available.

Network capacity can be increased considerably for suitable VPS, dedicated-server and colocation configurations, including connectivity options reaching up to 10 Gbps.

Infrastructure and software are kept relatively current. The company has introduced newer KVM VPS generations, added recent Windows Server versions and continued investing in security and compliance. Its data-center operation maintains ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 50001 and ISO 9001 certifications.
