📄 Editorial Review

ColoCrossing is a Buffalo, New York infrastructure and data-center services provider with roots going back to 2003, when Velocity Servers Inc. was founded as an Internet services and web-hosting business. The company shifted strongly toward enterprise colocation and dedicated infrastructure in 2006, eventually developing ColoCrossing into its primary infrastructure brand. Jon Biloh founded the business and played the central role in its development as president and CEO.

An important change in ownership occurred in 2018, when Deluxe Corporation acquired ColoCrossing. The business changed ownership again in 2023, when HostPapa acquired ColoCrossing. Current service agreements identify the operating entity as HostPapa, Inc., doing business as ColoCrossing. HostPapa has continued expanding this infrastructure group, including the 2026 acquisitions of Tailor Made Servers (tailormadeservers.com) and Hostwinds, adding more dedicated-server capacity and infrastructure operations to the wider organization.

ColoCrossing is primarily an infrastructure and IaaS provider rather than a conventional shared-hosting company. Its portfolio covers Colocation, Dedicated Servers, Cloud VPS, Cloud Metal, Reseller Servers, GPU / AI Dedicated Servers, Managed Hosting, Managed Cloud, Disaster Recovery, DDoS Mitigation, Managed Networks, Managed Firewalls, Remote Hands, BGP/IP Transit and IPv4 Leasing. Traditional mass-market shared hosting and domain registration are not central parts of the current product range.

Colocation remains one of the company's strongest services. Customers can deploy anything from a single 1U server to half cabinets, full 42U cabinets, private cages and high-density configurations. Packages can combine power, bandwidth, IPv4 resources and network connectivity, with network ports scaling to very high capacities. Remote Hands, monitoring, managed networking and DDoS protection are available for customers that need assistance without maintaining their own staff at the facility.

Dedicated Servers cover a wide range of hardware, from inexpensive Intel Xeon systems to newer AMD Ryzen and EPYC configurations, high-memory servers and systems with 10 Gbps connectivity. Full root access and IPMI remote management are standard advantages for this type of service, while Linux and Windows operating systems are supported. Many configurations include substantial monthly traffic allowances, making the servers suitable for hosting providers, SaaS applications, storage, virtualization and other bandwidth-intensive workloads.

GPU and AI Dedicated Servers extend the bare-metal catalog with NVIDIA and AMD accelerator hardware. Available configurations include Tesla, Quadro and Radeon Pro GPUs combined with large-memory server platforms. These systems can support inference, rendering, video processing, GPU computing and machine-learning workloads. Some configurations use older accelerator generations, so customers running modern AI models should compare GPU generation, VRAM and compute capability carefully before selecting a system.

Cloud VPS is based on Virtualizor and is available from multiple locations including Buffalo, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dublin, Toronto and Dallas. Plans use SSD storage and include IPv4 connectivity and generous transfer allocations. Operating-system choices include AlmaLinux, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora and Windows. Backup options can also be added with daily, weekly and manual snapshot schedules.

Cloud Metal combines cloud-style provisioning with dedicated physical resources. The service is concentrated around the Buffalo infrastructure and uses high-capacity networking and SSD storage. ColoCrossing also has a mature reseller platform aimed at hosting companies and infrastructure resellers. API integration, automation, volume pricing, white-label capabilities and WHMCS integration allow resellers to provision and manage services for their own customers.

Managed infrastructure is another substantial part of the business. Services include server management, multi-server management, migrations, disaster recovery, private and managed cloud, DDoS mitigation, firewall management, network management, monitoring, security, Remote Hands and backup administration. ColoSafe provides centralized backup services for endpoints and servers and supports environments including Microsoft 365, SQL Server, MySQL, Hyper-V, VMware and Synology.

The company also offers Standalone IPv4 Leasing, allowing customers to lease address space independently of server hardware. Customers with their own ASN can obtain authorization to announce leased address blocks, while BGP sessions and reverse DNS management are also available. This is a useful option for hosting providers, network operators and infrastructure businesses that need additional IPv4 resources without purchasing complete server packages.

ColoCrossing operates primarily in English and prices services in U.S. dollars (USD). Its current presentation and infrastructure management environment are modern, although some older sections still contain references to an earlier eight-location footprint. The current infrastructure network extends across 10 data-center markets.
