*📜 Plan description

Linux Cloud Hosting runs Linux distributions on isolated KVM instances with full root access, custom-kernel control and free-form resource sizing. Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, Fedora and custom images can be deployed without an opinionated application layer between the administrator and the virtual machine. CPU, RAM, storage and networking can be adjusted independently as demand changes, while snapshots and clones support fast rollback, test environments and reusable server templates.
The environment is suitable for LAMP and LEMP stacks, modern web applications, Docker and Podman hosts, Kubernetes worker nodes, CI/CD build agents, ephemeral testing, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, analytics, batch processing and self-hosted development tooling. Terraform, Ansible and cloud-init can be used to reproduce deployments and automate lifecycle tasks. Pricing varies with resource quantities, region, currency and purchase period, so no single universal amount applies. The product can use burst consumption, monthly subscriptions or longer commitments and retains the same networking, backup, security and SLA framework as the rest of the cloud platform.

The infrastructure uses free-form resource allocation rather than rigid instance bundles. CPU, RAM, distributed SSD or magnetic storage, data transfer, static IP addresses, VLANs, backup, disaster recovery, migration and software licenses can be purchased independently. Usage is measured to the second and billed in five-minute segments, with a near-real-time balance. Subscription capacity and burst use can be combined; consumption above a subscription is charged automatically. Monthly subscriptions are available, one-year commitments receive a 10 percent discount and three-year commitments receive a 25 percent discount. Powered-off servers stop using billable CPU and RAM, while persistent storage and retained resources continue to be charged.
Full KVM virtualization provides isolated virtual machines with root or administrator access, custom-image upload and support for Linux, Windows and FreeBSD. CPU topology can be adjusted independently from total GHz, and resources can be resized without fixed CPU-to-RAM ratios. Distributed SSD storage supplies unlimited IOPS for the standard sample configurations. Snapshots, cloning, private VLANs, public addressing, firewall rules, VPN connectivity, API access and Terraform automation support production operations. Typical uses include websites, e-commerce, CMS platforms, application and database servers, development and staging, CI/CD, mail, DNS, VPN gateways, backup targets and disaster recovery.
Security functions include tenant isolation, MFA, SSH keys, ACLs, auditability and DDoS protection, with controls aligned to ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, SOC 2, PCI-DSS and GDPR. Direct client accounts can use CHF, EUR, USD or GBP and pay by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or bank transfer. Amounts exclude VAT and other taxes unless explicitly stated otherwise. Eligible accounts receive a free resource tier in most locations after spending more than USD 10 per month; Honolulu and Perth are excluded. A seven-day trial is available, but purchased credits do not carry a standard fixed-duration money-back guarantee.
Support is available 24x7 through email, helpdesk/ticket and live chat. The SLA includes 100 percent virtual-server availability and 100 percent network uptime, plus a 1 ms or lower intra-cloud latency target, subject to exclusions and maintenance. Selectable client locations include Perth, Cairo, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Dublin, Tokyo, Monterey, Clark, Manila, Riyadh, Zurich or Geneva, Izmir, Cardiff, London, Honolulu, San Jose and Washington DC.

📄 Editorial Review

Founded in 2009 in Zurich by Robert Jenkin and Patrick Baillie, CloudSigma has grown from a flexible European infrastructure provider into an international sovereign-cloud platform. The company is privately held, headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, and operates with a relatively compact team. Tony Limby serves as CEO, while co-founder Robert Jenkin remains closely involved as CTO.

CloudSigma is not a conventional shared-hosting provider built around fixed cPanel packages, domain registrations, and inexpensive website hosting. Its services are primarily designed for developers, enterprises, managed service providers, telecommunications companies, data center operators, systems integrators, research organizations, and regulated institutions that need flexible infrastructure or a locally operated cloud environment.

Its central offering is Cloud-as-a-Service, a fully managed and white-label cloud platform that can be deployed inside a service provider’s chosen country. CloudSigma supplies the compute platform, storage, networking, automation, metering, billing, operational management, compliance framework, and technical support. The local partner contributes infrastructure capacity, local market knowledge, customer relationships, and branding.

This model allows telecom operators, managed service providers, and data center companies to launch a branded sovereign cloud without building an orchestration, billing, and support platform from the beginning. The partner retains commercial control while CloudSigma handles the underlying cloud technology and much of the daily operation.

The Cloud Servers and VPS Hosting platform uses free-form resource allocation instead of forcing customers into rigid server bundles. CPU, RAM, storage, bandwidth, and IP addresses can be selected independently. This makes it possible to increase a specific resource without paying for an unnecessarily large predefined package.

Virtual servers use full KVM virtualization and include root or administrator access. Customers can upload custom operating-system images, create snapshots, clone systems, configure private VLANs, assign multiple public IP addresses, establish VPN connectivity, apply firewall rules, and automate deployments through the API.

Linux Cloud Hosting supports distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, and Fedora, together with custom Linux images. Customers retain control over the operating system, kernel, modules, storage arrangement, and software configuration. The platform is suitable for LAMP and LEMP environments, databases, Docker hosts, Kubernetes nodes, analytics systems, CI/CD services, and self-hosted development platforms.

FreeBSD Cloud Hosting is one of CloudSigma’s more distinctive services. FreeBSD runs as a first-class guest inside isolated KVM virtual machines, with support for ZFS, jails, pf firewalling, custom images, ports, and pkg. This makes it suitable for storage appliances, secure gateways, DNS infrastructure, email systems, backup servers, and organizations migrating existing FreeBSD environments.

The Secure Cloud Servers range adds stronger jurisdictional and compliance controls. Workloads can remain inside a selected national location, while the platform incorporates standards and controls associated with ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 20000-1, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, and GDPR.

Private networking, VPN support, tenant isolation, access-control lists, two-factor authentication, SSH keys, auditing, and encryption-compatible storage make the environment appropriate for financial services, healthcare, government systems, disaster recovery, and other security-sensitive workloads.

CloudSigma also provides a broader Platform-as-a-Service environment for developers. It supports Java, PHP, Ruby, Python, .NET, Node.js, Go, Docker, and Kubernetes, together with automated scaling, application templates, managed databases, load balancing, monitoring, SSH access, command-line management, a graphical interface, and API integration.

Resource consumption within the PaaS environment is measured through cloudlets. Applications can scale according to demand without permanently reserving their maximum CPU and memory requirements, which can improve resource efficiency for variable workloads.

The GPU Compute service supports GPU passthrough, virtual GPU configurations, and GPU slicing. It can be used for artificial intelligence inference, model training, visualization, rendering, scientific computing, and other high-performance workloads. GPU resources can be integrated into the same cloud, customer-management, and billing environment instead of being operated as a separate platform.

Another important service is TaaS – Intelligence as a Service. It provides an OpenAI-compatible API for accessing commercial and open artificial intelligence models through a unified interface. Supported workloads include text chat, image generation, vision analysis, embeddings, OCR, document processing, speech, transcription, reranking, and audio processing.

TaaS includes geographic routing, provider filtering, automatic failover, API-key budgets, role-based access, and EU-only processing options. These controls help organizations manage cost, data location, supplier choice, and operational continuity when working with multiple AI model providers.

Research and educational institutions receive additional options such as direct GÉANT connectivity, eduGAIN federated authentication, proof-of-concept environments, temporary project capacity, student laboratory account controls, research-data storage, migration assistance, and personal account management.

CloudSigma supports 20 website languages: English, Arabic, Czech, German, Greek, Spanish, French, Croatian, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovak, Turkish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. The interface is modern, responsive, and well organized, with clear separation between sovereign cloud, AI, infrastructure, research, and service-provider solutions.
