ClouDNS is a Bulgarian managed DNS and domain-services company founded in 2010 by Boyan Peychev, who remains its CEO. The service is operated by Cloud DNS Ltd, headquartered in Sofia, with a technical support center in Stara Zagora. The company serves customers in more than 210 countries and manages over one million domain names.

ClouDNS is not a conventional shared-hosting provider. Its main specialization is authoritative DNS infrastructure, domain management and related network services. The portfolio includes Free DNS, Premium DNS, DDoS Protected DNS, GeoDNS, Enterprise DNS, Private DNS Servers, DNS services for TLD registries, domain registration, SSL certificates, monitoring, email forwarding, email hosting and Google Workspace.

The company became an ICANN-accredited registrar in 2024, strengthening its domain-registration business and enabling direct registrar relationships for several important extensions. Customers can search and register more than 1,000 generic, national and specialized domain extensions.

The free DNS plan is suitable for personal websites, test projects and small online services. It includes four Unicast DNS servers, one DNS zone, 50 DNS records, 500,000 monthly queries, one email forward and one Dynamic DNS hostname. Free accounts also receive 24/7 live-chat support.

Premium DNS uses a global Anycast platform and includes DNSSEC, DNS Failover, Secondary DNS, API access, advanced TTL management, DNS statistics, web forwarding, email forwarding and migration from standard zone files. The entry plan supports five DNS zones and five million monthly queries, while the larger packages increase the limits to hundreds of zones and hundreds of millions of monthly queries.

DDoS Protected DNS combines Anycast delivery with additional protection against DNS-layer attacks. It is particularly useful for e-commerce websites, financial platforms, gaming services, SaaS applications and other projects where DNS availability is business-critical. The service includes DNSSEC, Failover, rapid global synchronization and up to one billion monthly queries on the largest standard package.

GeoDNS directs visitors according to geographic location, including continent, country, United States region and Canadian region. EDNS Client Subnet support improves routing accuracy when compatible recursive resolvers are used. GeoDNS can send users toward the nearest application server, distribute traffic between regional platforms or support a privately managed multi-region infrastructure. It controls DNS routing rather than caching website files, so it is not a complete CDN replacement.

Enterprise DNS is intended for large applications, hosting providers, financial platforms, registries and organizations with high DNS-query volumes. Enterprise configurations can include custom query capacity, private nameserver identities, dedicated IP addresses, SAML single sign-on, TSIG support, white-label functionality and custom geographic locations.

The Private DNS Server service gives hosting companies, agencies and resellers dedicated DNS resources under their own nameserver hostnames. These configurations include dedicated IP addresses, Premium DNS functionality, custom branding, unlimited zones and records within the available server resources, and continuous server monitoring. DDoS-protected private DNS servers are available in selected locations.

Dynamic DNS works with Windows, Linux, macOS, Synology, MikroTik and pfSense systems. It is useful for home servers, security cameras, VPN endpoints, remote-access systems and other services operating behind changing IP addresses.

DNS Failover continuously checks the availability of a server or application. When the primary destination becomes unavailable, the relevant DNS record can automatically switch to a backup IP address or secondary service.

The independent Monitoring platform supports DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, UDP, ICMP Ping, keyword, heartbeat, SSL/TLS, SMTP, IMAP, firewall and streaming checks. Alerts can be delivered through email, Telegram, webhooks and SMS. Paid monitoring plans also support public status pages.

ClouDNS also provides domain registration and SSL certificates. Domain accounts include DNS management, DNSSEC where supported, applicable ICANN fees and WHOIS privacy for eligible extensions. SSL products include single-domain, wildcard and Extended Validation certificates.

Email products include forwarding, catch-all forwarding and standalone Email Hosting. The email service supports custom domains, webmail, IMAP, SMTP, POP3, aliases, forwarding, spam protection and virus filtering. Google Workspace subscriptions are available for companies that require Gmail and the wider Google productivity environment.

The reseller platform includes an HTTP API, a reseller control panel and integration modules for WHMCS and HostBill. Hosting companies can automate domain registration, DNS-zone creation, record management, renewals and customer provisioning.

Account security includes DNSSEC, DDoS mitigation, encrypted control-panel sessions, API authentication, account sub-users and ISO 27001:2022 certification. DNS query information is not used for advertising or behavioral profiling.

The website and control panel are available in English, Russian, German, French, Romanian, Bulgarian, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Slovak, Ukrainian, Turkish, Japanese, Hindi, Indonesian, Hebrew, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese and Persian. English remains the controlling language for legal interpretation.
