Cloudnet is a Swedish managed hosting specialist focused on Linux environments and customers that need considerably more technical assistance than conventional shared hosting provides. The company was founded in 2010 by Anders Brundin and Magnus Appelquist, after the founders had already been hosting websites as a side project during the late 2000s. Cloudnet Sweden AB operates under Swedish organization number 556803-7476 and is based in Kungälv.

A significant corporate change came in spring 2022, when Cloudnet was acquired by Miss Group (missgroup.com). Cloudnet has continued as a specialized managed hosting operation within the larger group, retaining its focus on technically managed Linux infrastructure rather than mass-market shared hosting.

The service is best understood as managed VPS / managed cloud hosting. Each customer receives a separate virtual Linux server environment instead of being placed in a traditional shared hosting account alongside unrelated users. Cloudnet takes care of server installation, configuration, operating-system security updates, monitoring and backups, while developers retain full root access to their environments.

Ubuntu LTS is the standard operating system. MySQL is the default database platform, while PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Solr and Elasticsearch can also be accommodated when needed. Deployment can be handled with SFTP, Git, rsync and CI/CD workflows, giving development teams considerably more flexibility than a typical control-panel hosting account.

The platform is suitable for WordPress, Drupal, Magento, Django, TYPO3, Node.js and Go projects. Cloudnet manages the operating system, web server, database environment, monitoring and infrastructure security updates, while CMS and application maintenance remains with the customer, developer or web agency. This arrangement works particularly well for development teams that want Cloudnet to handle infrastructure and DevOps responsibilities without taking control away from the application developers.

The main hosting range consists of Basic, Standard+, Professional, Max and Max II. All plans use SSD storage and include root access, system security updates, automatic monitoring, technical assistance, consulting and geographically separated backups.

Basic provides 8 GB storage, one CPU core, 1 GB RAM and 100 Mbit/s connectivity. Backup history is retained for seven days, one SSL certificate is included, and automated problem handling is available on weekdays from 08:00 to 17:00. Domain registration, prioritized transactional e-mail and Cloudflare-based overload and DDoS protection can be added separately.

Standard+ increases resources to 40 GB storage, two CPU cores, 4 GB RAM and 500 Mbit/s connectivity. Backup history is extended to three months, while one domain and one SSL certificate are included. Monitoring-related problem handling is available every day from 07:00 to 22:00. The package also includes prioritized outgoing e-mail capacity through SendGrid (sendgrid.com).

Professional moves into the more business-critical part of the range, with 60 GB storage, four CPU cores, 8 GB RAM and 1 Gbit/s connectivity. Backup history extends to six months, while three domains, three SSL certificates, a separate test environment, Cloudflare protection and 24/7 monitoring and emergency problem handling are included.

Max provides 100 GB storage, eight CPU cores, 16 GB RAM and 2 Gbit/s connectivity. Max II increases this to 120 GB storage, 16 CPU cores, 32 GB RAM and 6 Gbit/s. Both include six months of backup retention, five domains, support for up to five managed SSL certificates or customer-supplied certificates, a separate test environment, attack protection and 24/7 monitoring. These larger plans are particularly suitable for busy ecommerce, publishing and agency-managed sites.

Customized environments and load-balanced configurations are also available when the standard package sizes are not sufficient.

An older Standard package remains available at SEK 1,795 per month, with 20 GB storage, one CPU core and weekday 07:00–22:00 monitoring. It is positioned between Basic and Standard+ in terms of resources and pricing.

Domains, DNS and SSL certificates are integrated into the hosting service. DNS management uses anycast technology to improve resilience and geographic availability. Depending on the package, domains and SSL certificates are either included or can be added separately.

The Swedish website uses Swedish, while an English-language version is available through the company's international hosting domain. Public Swedish pricing is in SEK. The website has a modern layout suitable for both desktop and mobile visitors.
