*📜 Plan description
Raises one hosted application's compute allocation to 5 cpu cores and 10 GB RAM for $36.30 per month. This is a per-application resource add-on for a paid Joomla, WordPress or empty Linux site. It increases the site's processor and memory allocation without changing the 20 GB storage, unlimited bandwidth, backup, SSL, CDN, email or Cloud Control Panel functions of the underlying hosting plan. The add-on can be selected during application configuration or enabled later when traffic, extensions, imports, background jobs or database workloads require more headroom. Because it runs inside the managed hosting platform, support, 99.9 percent network uptime and the Detroit or Barcelona hosting locations follow the active site plan.
📄 Editorial Review
CloudAccess.net is a US-managed hosting provider founded in 2008 by Gary Jay Brooks. The business began in Indian River, Michigan, as MichiganMedia.net, initially concentrating on web design and consulting. Its direction changed after Gary Brooks became involved with the Joomla community and developed the concept of a longer cloud-hosted Joomla demonstration environment. CloudAccess.net secured the contract to operate Joomla’s official demonstration service in April 2010, turning the company into a recognized specialist in Joomla hosting, training, and application support.Jonathan James Gafill became CEO in 2014 after previously working as project manager, support manager, chief operating officer, and head of several internal departments. By that stage, CloudAccess.net had already expanded beyond its original web-design activity and was hosting more than 20,000 websites with an international team.
CloudAccess.net joined Cloud Equity Group in May 2016. The company acquired Michigan-based Miller Media in June 2020, adding web development, branding, search marketing, and other professional services. On May 30, 2022, Miss Group (missgroup.com) acquired CloudAccess.net from Cloud Equity Group (cloudequitygroup.com). The business had approximately 4,000 customers, more than 20,000 hosted websites, and around 25 employees at the time of that acquisition.
The company concentrates on managed WordPress hosting and managed Joomla hosting. It is not primarily an unmanaged VPS or dedicated-server provider. Its strongest audience consists of website owners who need assistance with CMS installation, migration, security, updates, backups, staging, domains, SSL, email, and application-level troubleshooting.
The main managed hosting package includes WordPress or Joomla preinstallation, 20 GB of storage, unlimited bandwidth, 2 GB of RAM, two CPU cores, unlimited email accounts, SSL, CDN access, a web application firewall, staging tools, daily backups, and free website migration. A temporary CloudAccess.host subdomain can be used while a website is being built or transferred, allowing development to continue before the permanent domain is connected.
CloudAccess.net also maintains a free hosting option for WordPress and Joomla. It includes a free subdomain, approximately 500 MB of storage, one CPU core, 1 GB of RAM, FTP access, MySQL access, and SSL. This is particularly useful for learning either CMS, evaluating the hosting platform, testing extensions, or preparing a small personal project before moving to a paid package. The free service is intended for learning and personal use rather than commercial production websites.
Managed WordPress hosting runs in an environment optimized around WordPress, MySQL, Apache, PHP, security filtering, and automated backups. Managed Joomla hosting uses the same general platform but benefits from the company’s long involvement with Joomla, including migration assistance, tutorials, training resources, application support, and server settings adapted for Joomla installations.
Additional computing capacity is available through the Compute Booster. It increases processor and memory resources for busy websites, development projects, resource-intensive plugins or extensions, and temporary traffic growth. Larger customers can request customized enterprise environments with additional CPU cores, RAM, storage, active monitoring, load testing, and managed technical support.
The company’s CloudMail service provides browser-based webmail, POP and IMAP access, calendars, contacts, spam protection, encrypted connections, intrusion detection, and brute-force protection. Email service is included with paid hosting when the hosted domain is used, while standalone CloudMail packages can be purchased separately.
The wider service catalog includes domain registration, domain transfers, Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates, managed commercial SSL installation, Bolt DNS, staging, website replication, migration, professional development, template and theme customization, branding, CMS upgrades, website redesign, digital marketing, and complete website projects. Software companies can also use the SaaS API to generate temporary WordPress or Joomla installations from predefined packages.
Paid websites receive CDN integration through Cloudflare. This improves the delivery of static content for geographically distributed visitors and adds an additional layer of traffic filtering and availability protection.
The service is operated in English, and billing is handled in US dollars. The main website is responsive and modern, although parts of the knowledge base, account system, and older company sections retain a more traditional Joomla-oriented layout.
