Christian Web Host is a specialist hosting and website-services provider established in 1998 by Pamela "Pam" Odeneal and Lance Odeneal. Its beginnings can be traced to a free Christian website community launched one year earlier. As churches, ministries and individual users began requesting independent domains and more capable website accounts, the operation developed into a commercial hosting business. The christianwebhost.com domain was registered in May 1999.

The company expanded internationally during its early years and became a recognized provider for churches, ministries, nonprofit organizations and faith-oriented website owners. An operating agreement signed in 2008 transferred much of the daily technical administration to a larger hosting organization while the founders initially retained ownership. Christian Web Host later became associated with Tech Assets and the Deluxe (deluxe.com) web hosting portfolio.

HostPapa announced its acquisition of Deluxe’s web hosting and logo-design operations in February 2023, with the transaction completed on June 29, 2023. Christian Web Host now operates within the HostPapa organization and uses HostPapa’s account-management, network and support infrastructure.

The service remains focused on churches, ministries, nonprofit organizations, religious communities and faith-based businesses. This specialization differentiates it from general hosting companies that primarily target developers, online retailers or enterprise infrastructure customers. Its products are suitable for organizations that need straightforward website management, WordPress support and access to assistance without maintaining an internal technical team.

The main website is modern, responsive and written in English. The customer portal offers a much broader selection of interface languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese and several Central and Eastern European languages. Services are priced in US dollars.

The standard Linux shared hosting range contains three packages named Stacked, Layered and Expanded. Stacked includes 10 GB of storage, 100 GB of monthly bandwidth and support for up to 10 domains. Layered increases these resources to 15 GB of storage, 150 GB of bandwidth and 15 domains. Expanded provides 20 GB of storage, 200 GB of monthly bandwidth and support for as many as 20 domains.

Every shared hosting package includes cPanel, one-click WordPress installation and 24/7/365 technical support. Customers also receive email accounts, FTP access, MySQL databases and access to a broad application installer. The storage allocations are more conservative than the nominally unlimited packages offered by some mass-market providers, but the clearly defined resource limits are sufficient for ordinary church, ministry, community and small nonprofit websites.

The proprietary Website Builder range provides a simpler alternative to WordPress. The Create edition supports websites containing up to five pages. Elevate adds unlimited pages, appointment scheduling, member logins, polls, multilingual website functions, cookie notifications and more extensive design controls. The eCommerce edition adds an online store with unlimited products, payment processing, order tracking, shipping configuration, tax settings and promotional tools.

All Website Builder packages use responsive templates and drag-and-drop editing. They are particularly practical for churches and nonprofit organizations that need to maintain announcements, service schedules, event pages, contact forms, donation information or community resources without hiring a developer for every change.

WordPress hosting includes one-click installation, access to themes and plugins, and tools for handling WordPress configuration and updates. Softaculous provides more than 300 installable applications covering content-management systems, blogs, forums, billing platforms and eCommerce software.

The Do It For Me service is designed for customers who prefer a professionally assembled website. Packages are available for five-page websites, ten-page websites and eCommerce projects. The standard website packages include responsive design, stock photography, maps, lead-generation forms, hosting, access to the visual builder and four hours of annual maintenance. The eCommerce version also includes initial product setup and integration with payment gateways, tax settings and shipping tools.

Domain registration and transfer services cover extensions such as .church, .faith, .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .social, .media and .io. The religiously oriented domain extensions fit the company’s target audience particularly well, although renewal fees should be checked carefully because they can be substantially higher than the initial registration price.

Email Defense protects incoming and outgoing mail against spam, viruses, phishing attempts and malware. The service includes quarantine management, message queueing during temporary mail-server outages and a stated detection accuracy of 99.98%.

Standard and wildcard SSL certificates are also available. The standard certificate protects an individual domain, while the wildcard option can secure multiple subdomains under the same primary domain.

Search Engine Assist is a self-managed SEO platform covering keyword tracking, local business listings, website optimization tasks, social visibility, analytics and instructional material. It is aimed primarily at organizations that need guided search-engine improvements rather than a fully managed SEO campaign.

Additional services include SiteLock website protection, fax-to-email functionality and bundled website tools. SiteLock covers malware scanning, vulnerability detection, blacklist monitoring and remediation assistance. The fax packages include dedicated toll-free numbers and online document storage, with an encrypted option intended for more sensitive communications.

Some informational sections remain available even when their corresponding store categories do not currently display independently orderable packages. This applies to VPS hosting, fax-to-email, SiteLock and some standalone design tools. Customers interested in these products should confirm current availability and pricing directly before ordering.

Dedicated servers, reseller hosting, colocation and Windows shared hosting are not part of the present Christian Web Host range. Organizations requiring these services would need to use the broader HostPapa portfolio or choose a provider specializing in server infrastructure.
