📄 Editorial Review
Choopa.com was a U.S.-based hosting and infrastructure provider that is no longer active as a standalone hosting brand. The company’s roots go back to 2001, with David Aninowsky strongly connected to its foundation and leadership. Over time, Choopa became part of a wider infrastructure group that also included GameServers.com, ReliableServers, The Constant Company, and eventually Vultr.Choopa was not simply removed from the market through a typical outside acquisition. The brand was gradually retired inside the same corporate structure, while the newer Vultr platform became the main global cloud brand. In 2022, The Constant Company consolidated legacy services such as Choopa, ReliableServers, and UnmeteredServers into Vultr. Legacy billing stopped accepting payments from December 7, 2022, and customers were moved toward Vultr for account management and future services. Today, choopa.com redirects to vultr.com, so Choopa should be considered an inactive provider.
During its active years, Choopa focused mainly on Dedicated Servers and Colocation Hosting. It was not a beginner-oriented shared hosting company, but rather a provider built for customers who needed physical infrastructure, stronger network capacity, configurable servers, and direct control over their environments. This made Choopa more relevant for gaming platforms, media projects, high-traffic applications, enterprise workloads, and technically experienced customers.
Their dedicated servers were powered by enterprise-grade hardware from Dell, SuperMicro, and in some cases HP. Customers could choose from configurations based on Quad-core, Hexa-core, and Octa-core processors, including Intel generations such as Haswell and Skylake. Operating system options included customized Linux distributions such as CentOS, Fedora, and Ubuntu, together with Windows-based deployments. The ability to add hardware and software options made the service flexible for users who needed more than a fixed standard server package.
Choopa also played an important role in the infrastructure history behind Vultr, launched in 2014 by David Aninowsky. Vultr became the modern cloud evolution of the same infrastructure experience, shifting the group from dedicated hosting and gaming infrastructure toward scalable cloud compute, bare metal, storage, and global cloud services.
