ChangeIP is an established American hosting and DNS company founded in 1999 by Sam Norris. Dynamic DNS remains its most recognizable service, but the company has expanded into domain registration, managed DNS, Linux shared hosting, unmanaged Linux VPS, SSL certificates, DNS automation, and OEM Dynamic DNS integration.

The service portfolio is particularly well suited to technically experienced individuals, developers, home-network administrators, small companies, and customers who need dependable remote access to systems connected through changing IP addresses. ChangeIP has retained a practical and technically focused approach rather than developing into a conventional mass-market hosting brand.

Dynamic DNS is the central part of the business. Free DDNS accounts support up to seven hostnames using domains operated by ChangeIP. This works well for home servers, surveillance systems, routers, development environments, remote desktop connections, private cloud installations, and other equipment connected through an internet service without a fixed IP address.

Premium DDNS allows customers to use their own registered domain and gives paying customers priority support. Full DNS Hosting can also be used with domains registered through ChangeIP or another registrar. URL redirection is included, and DNS records can be updated automatically through the ChangeIP API.

The DNS update system is compatible with routers, firewalls, NAS devices, monitoring applications, update clients, and custom scripts. Hardware and software vendors can also integrate the infrastructure into their own products through the OEM partner program, which includes API access, technical integration assistance, priority support, and advance notification of important platform changes.

Shared hosting is Linux-based and managed through cPanel. SSD storage is standard across the range, while Softaculous provides one-click installation for WordPress and many other web applications. Even the entry-level package supports multiple domains, which is uncommon for hosting priced at this level.

The Starter Web Hosting plan includes 10 GB of SSD storage, 50 GB of monthly transfer, support for 10 hosted domains, 10 subdomains, and Softaculous. A separate Starter package adds recoverable backups through JetBackup, with backups retained for up to 14 days.

The Value, Professional, and Ultimate packages provide larger storage allocations and greater account capacity. Storage increases to 15 GB, 25 GB, and 50 GB respectively. Value and Professional include unmetered bandwidth, while Ultimate supports unlimited domains and subdomains.

ChangeIP’s VPS range covers everything from very small development instances to considerably larger production servers. The smallest VPS includes 256 MB of RAM, while the largest public configuration includes 32 GB of RAM, eight virtual CPU cores, 500 GB of SSD storage, and 8 TB of monthly transfer.

Every VPS includes SSD RAID 1 storage, a 100 Mbit network connection, remote rebooting, operating-system reinstallation, shutdown controls, and console access. The servers are unmanaged, giving experienced customers full control without charging for administration they may not require.

Available operating-system templates include AlmaLinux, Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, Fedora, OpenSUSE, and Slackware. Some older templates remain selectable, so customers should choose a currently supported release such as AlmaLinux 9, Debian 12, or an active Ubuntu LTS version.

The domain service covers more than 200 extensions. Registered domains include DNS hosting, transfer locking, and a 30-day Premium DDNS trial. Failed incoming domain transfers qualify for a full refund. The amount is initially credited to the customer account, but it can be returned to the original credit card after a written request.

SSL certificates are available for ordinary websites, wildcard protection, business validation, and extended validation. The range includes RapidSSL, RapidSSL Wildcard, QuickSSL Premium, and True BusinessID EV certificates. Selected certificates include warranties of up to $1.75 million.
