Cartika is a Canadian managed hosting and cloud infrastructure provider whose operating history dates back to 1999, when founder Andrew Rouchotas started the business around application hosting and technical support. Its own server infrastructure followed in 2000, which is also why some corporate records use 2000 as the formal foundation date. Cartika Internet Solution Providers Inc. operates from Toronto and has developed from traditional web hosting into a much broader managed infrastructure provider.

The current service range is aimed primarily at businesses, IT professionals, hosting resellers, managed-service providers and organizations with more demanding security or compliance requirements. The portfolio includes Enterprise Web Hosting, Enterprise Reseller Hosting, public and private IaaS cloud, fully managed cloud infrastructure, dedicated/private infrastructure, compliance hosting, business email, remote desktop infrastructure, SD-WAN, VPN, backup services, spam filtering, domains and SSL certificates.

Enterprise Web Hosting is closer to a managed virtual server than ordinary low-cost shared hosting. Linux and Windows configurations are available in Canada and the United States. The Linux configuration includes 2 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM and 100 GB SSD storage, while Windows increases memory to 16 GB with the same CPU and storage allocation. Both include public and private IP addressing, 100 Mbps connectivity, snapshots, daily backup capacity, managed firewalling, disaster recovery, endpoint protection, operating-system patching, log retention and 24x7 technical assistance.

Linux hosting uses cPanel with a conventional LAMP environment. Windows hosting uses Plesk together with Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server Web Edition. Integration with Cloudflare is available for DNS, CDN and security functions.

Enterprise Reseller Hosting uses the same managed-infrastructure approach. Linux reseller hosting includes WHM/cPanel, 2 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM and 150 GB SSD storage, while the Windows version uses Plesk with comparable infrastructure resources. Both include unmetered 100 Mbps connectivity, WAN and LAN addressing, proactive administration, backups, snapshots, disaster recovery, endpoint protection, firewall management and around-the-clock support.

Linux reseller environments can run AlmaLinux or CloudLinux with CageFS. Windows reseller hosting includes Windows Server and MSSQL Web Edition. This makes Cartika's reseller product substantially more isolated and infrastructure-oriented than a conventional reseller account hosted alongside many unrelated customers on the same shared server.

The IaaS Public Cloud is intended for customers who prefer to manage their own Windows or Linux virtual machines. Entry resources include 1 CPU core, 4 GB RAM, 50 GB disk space, two IP addresses and unmetered 100 Mbps connectivity, with resources expandable according to workload requirements.

Private Cloud moves workloads onto dedicated infrastructure using Citrix XenServer. Configurations can accommodate one or multiple virtual machines with adjustable CPU, RAM and IOPS resources, up to 40 CPU cores and SSD hardware RAID storage. Physical server configurations are also available for applications that require dedicated hardware.

Customers that do not want responsibility for operating-system administration can use Managed Public or Private Cloud. These environments add continuous monitoring, proactive response, log management, managed firewall and access controls, endpoint protection, file and database backup, restoration and disaster-recovery administration. Managed infrastructure follows the NIST Cybersecurity and Privacy Framework.

Advanced Compliance Management is designed for organizations handling regulated or sensitive information. Cartika supports infrastructures intended for requirements involving HIPAA, HITECH, PHIPA, COPPA, SOX, FISMA, GLB and PCI DSS, together with privacy and data-governance requirements such as GDPR, PIPEDA and CCPA. Private compliance environments combine managed virtual machines with backup, endpoint security, analytics and access-management systems.

Business email remains an important part of the portfolio. IMAP Business Email offers independent POP/IMAP mailboxes with capacities ranging from 2 GB to 100 GB. Private email infrastructure is also available for organizations wanting a dedicated managed virtual machine, unlimited domains and accounts, and professional inbound and outbound filtering.

Spam Filtering as a Service can protect email hosted at Cartika, on a company's own mail server or with another hosting provider. It supports inbound and outbound filtering, temporary mail spooling when a destination server becomes unavailable, quarantine management and message logging.

Remote-working infrastructure includes Microsoft RDP/RDS services for smaller teams as well as larger private RDS environments. Managed public RDP infrastructure can accommodate approximately 25 to 50 users, while dedicated/private deployments can be scaled considerably further. Windows Server 2019 and 2022 options are available.

Cloud Virtual Desktops provide individual hosted Windows environments. The basic desktop configuration includes 1 CPU core, 2 GB RAM, 60 GB disk storage, Microsoft Defender, support for two remote users and unmetered 100 Mbps connectivity.

Cartika's SD-WAN platform is useful for organizations that need to connect offices, remote users and hosted infrastructure as one secured environment. Managed appliances installed at customer locations can route traffic into infrastructure hosted in Cartika facilities, public cloud or private cloud. Mobile VPN access is also available for laptops, smartphones and tablets.

Backup as a Service works with both Cartika-hosted equipment and servers located elsewhere. It supports complete server or virtual-machine backups, granular file and database restoration, local or remote storage, snapshots and remote bare-metal recovery. Managed services can include 15 daily restore points and substantial backup capacity depending on the selected package.

Domain registration, transfers and DNS administration are handled through the Cartika Accounts Portal. Commercial SSL certificates are available separately, while managed Cloudflare services add Anycast DNS, CDN, DDoS mitigation, web application firewall functions and performance optimization according to the selected service level.
