📄 Editorial Review
BTS Telecom is a Romanian hosting and infrastructure provider headquartered in Bucharest. The current legal entity, BTS TELECOM SRL, was incorporated on August 10, 2011, under CUI/VAT RO28977960 and Trade Register number J40/9728/2011. Its network presence goes further back, with AS39345 dating to 2006 and long-standing RIPE records associating Mihai Pencea with administrative and technical responsibilities for the network. For 2025, BTS TELECOM SRL reported 652,047 RON in turnover and 112,963 RON net profit. The portfolio is considerably broader than ordinary shared hosting and includes Shared Hosting, WordPress Hosting, PrestaShop Hosting, Magento Hosting, WooCommerce Hosting, OpenCart Hosting, VPS, Dedicated Servers, Colocation, Game Hosting and Domain Registration. Server infrastructure is located in Romania, which makes the service particularly relevant for Romanian businesses, local online stores and applications where regional latency matters.
Shared Hosting is divided between regular and Pro packages. Starter includes 1 GB SSD and one hosted domain, Silver provides 2 GB and two domains, Gold offers 3 GB and five domains, while Platinum reaches 10 GB with no stated domain limit. These plans include unlimited email accounts, LiteSpeed Web Server, free SSL, Softaculous and a free domain.
The Pro range begins with 15 GB SSD and scales through 25 GB and 50 GB to 100 GB with Enterprise Pro. These packages allow unlimited hosted domains and add a dedicated IP together with LSCache acceleration.
The shared environment runs on high-availability server clusters with automatic recovery mechanisms, a 10 Gbps uplink and incremental daily backup procedures. The software stack includes CloudLinux, Imunify360, LiteSpeed, KernelCare, Softaculous and cPanel. CloudLinux isolates individual accounts, Imunify360 adds firewall and malware protection, KernelCare permits kernel security updates without routine reboots, and LiteSpeed with LSCache provides application-level caching. Softaculous adds automated installation for more than 400 scripts.
WordPress Hosting is available in four packages ranging from 3 GB to 30 GB SSD. WordPress Starter begins at €3.99 per month, Silver costs €7.99, Gold €12.99 and Platinum €19.99. These plans include unlimited email accounts, LiteSpeed, free SSL, a free domain, dedicated IP, Cloudflare CDN integration and LiteSpeed WordPress Cache. File, database and complete account backups can also be generated from cPanel.
E-commerce customers receive separate hosting lines for PrestaShop, Magento, WooCommerce and OpenCart rather than relying on a single generic package. PrestaShop and OpenCart plans scale from 20 GB through 100 GB to 200 GB SSD, WooCommerce ranges from 10 GB to 30 GB, while Magento starts at 20 GB and reaches 100 GB. These e-commerce plans generally include unlimited email accounts, LiteSpeed, free SSL, Imunify360, a dedicated IP, Cloudflare CDN, SSH access and application-specific LiteSpeed caching.
Each major e-commerce line also extends into a Cloud VPS configuration. A typical configuration includes 4 dedicated vCPU, 8 GB RAM and 400 GB SSD, with Apache + Nginx, a dedicated IP, SSL, CDN, root access and management included. This provides a practical upgrade path for stores that outgrow shared hosting but do not yet require a fully independent dedicated server.
The standard VPS range contains four configurations. VPS Starter provides 1 dedicated vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB storage, one IPv4 address and a 1 Gbps network connection. Silver increases this to 2 vCPU and 3 GB RAM, Gold provides 3 vCPU and 6 GB RAM, while Platinum reaches 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM and 200 GB storage. DDoS protection is included, together with 50 GB of backup space.
Virtual servers can be stopped, reinstalled and reconfigured from the customer interface, including operating-system changes. LXC virtualization is used within the VPS platform, while older service information also covers VDS and OpenVZ-style environments. Supported server operating systems include Linux, CloudLinux, FreeBSD, Windows and Oracle-related environments, so customers with a strict virtualization requirement should confirm the exact platform assigned to a new VPS.
Dedicated Servers provide full control over physical hardware and permit installation of the preferred operating system and applications. The available configurations use dual Intel Xeon X5650 processors with either 72 GB or 144 GB DDR3 ECC RAM. Storage options include 256 GB SSD plus 1 TB SATA or a 1 TB SSD RAID10 configuration, with 1 Gbps connectivity.
These Xeon X5650 and DDR3 configurations are legacy-generation hardware by current standards. They remain usable where inexpensive physical resources and large amounts of RAM matter more than modern single-core performance, but customers looking for current-generation processors should confirm whether newer configurations are available.
Dedicated-server pricing also requires some attention. The general starting price is €74.99/month, while the specific visible configurations are €120 and €150/month. Some annual values are displayed incorrectly as "€-1.00", so monthly pricing or a current quotation is more reliable. Provisioning normally takes no more than 24 hours after payment verification and commercial approval.
Colocation is available for customer-owned rack equipment. Monthly pricing includes 1U at €80 and 2U at €95, both with ten IP addresses and 1 Gbps network connectivity. Larger rackable equipment up to 42U can also be accommodated. As with dedicated servers, some annual pricing values are inconsistent, so customers should use the monthly rate or request a current quotation.
Game Hosting remains part of the portfolio as well. Minecraft hosting starts at €4.99/month with guaranteed resources, a 10 Gbps uplink, DDoS protection and the Pterodactyl control panel. Metin2 configurations range from 3 GB RAM, two CPU cores and 30 GB SSD to 12 GB RAM, six cores and 150 GB SSD. The Metin2 range uses FreeBSD 12.0. These plans are most relevant to Romanian gaming communities that value low regional latency and straightforward server administration.
Domain registration is available independently from hosting. Representative prices include .com €15.39, .eu €11.69, .ro €10.92, .info €4.97 and .biz €26.79. New registrations and transfers are supported, and purchasing hosting is not mandatory for domain registration. WHOIS privacy is also included where supported.
The website is primarily available in Romanian. A complete English localization does not exist, although a few English interface strings remain. Product prices are displayed primarily in EUR and exclude VAT.
The overall presentation is modern enough for everyday use, although some technical and pricing information is clearly older. PHP 7+ is still referenced on the WordPress section, some annual dedicated and colocation prices are invalid, and an unrelated support email remains embedded in part of the interface. Shared hosting, WordPress and e-commerce plans are therefore easier to evaluate directly, while dedicated and colocation customers should confirm the current hardware and final quotation before ordering.
