*📜 Plan description
Entry shared plan focused on affordability for a single website. Includes 5 GB enterprise SSD storage (hardware RAID10 with caching), 100 GB premium bandwidth on a fully redundant network, unlimited databases and mailboxes, free Let’s Encrypt SSL, proactive monitoring and DDoS protection (BGP-based filtering). cPanel access is included and the environment is CloudLinux/LiteSpeed. Each shared cPanel is provisioned with 1 CPU and 1 GB RAM; the optional “Turbo Charged” add-on doubles CPU power. Lowest price shown is with annual billing (save $1/mo vs monthly pricing of $7.95); both term options are available.
All shared plans run on current-generation, enterprise hardware that BigScoots owns and operates in a Tier III+ Chicago facility, with direct fiber into Cloudflare’s network for global delivery. Support is U.S.-based and available 24/7/365 with average response times under 90 seconds. Backups, security hardening, DDoS mitigation and transparent SLA credits back a 99.99% uptime commitment.

📄 Editorial Review
BigScoots is a Chicago-based managed hosting company founded in 2010 by Scott Stapley and Justin Catello. Stapley remains co-founder and CEO, while Catello continues in a senior technical and infrastructure role. The company has grown from a small independent hosting operation into a WordPress-focused provider serving more than 17,000 customers and handling billions of page views every month. Its team is estimated at approximately 11–50 employees. In July 2023, BigScoots received an investment from Stone-Goff Partners (stonegoff.com). The founders and existing management team continued operating the company, while the additional capital supported team expansion, product development, automation, channel partnerships and possible complementary acquisitions.
BigScoots appeared on the Inc. 5000 list for the fifth time in 2024, ranking No. 3,250 after achieving 145% revenue growth over three years. Despite this expansion, the company has retained its original managed-service approach, with direct access to experienced technical staff rather than several layers of basic support agents.
The company’s main specialty is Managed WordPress Hosting. These plans combine hosting with proactive monitoring, WordPress-specific technical assistance, website migrations, staging environments, daily backups, SSL certificates, email hosting and direct access to engineers familiar with the application itself. Customers can receive practical help with plugin conflicts, performance problems, caching, security incidents and infrastructure-related issues instead of being left to diagnose every WordPress problem alone.
Managed WordPress plans range from single-site packages to larger Core and custom Enterprise environments. Resources are organized according to monthly visitors, storage, bandwidth and the number of WordPress installations. There are no fixed PHP-worker limits. Temporary traffic spikes are normally accommodated without an immediate suspension or compulsory upgrade, although continuous or repeated resource overuse can result in overage charges, throttling, restrictions or migration to a more suitable package.
Most managed WordPress plans integrate a customized Enterprise configuration from Cloudflare. Depending on the package, this can include global CDN delivery, edge caching, image optimization, WebP conversion, DDoS protection, web application firewall filtering and intelligent cache handling for dynamic or authenticated visitors.
Enterprise WordPress Hosting is intended for major publishers, WooCommerce stores, universities, digital agencies and business-critical applications. Environments can use dedicated virtual resources, bare-metal servers, custom caching, high-availability architecture and application-specific engineering. Each deployment is configured and priced according to its workload, traffic profile and technical requirements.
BigScoots also operates specialized hosting packages for publishers using Mediavine (mediavine.com) and its Journey program. These services combine managed WordPress hosting with Enterprise CDN delivery and traffic allowances suitable for advertising-supported content websites. Journey hosting is restricted to eligible Journey publishers, while the larger Mediavine packages can support websites receiving more than 1.5 million monthly visits.
The traditional Shared Hosting range remains available for smaller websites, email hosting and customers who prefer cPanel. It includes SSD RAID storage, LiteSpeed, CloudLinux, free SSL certificates, DDoS protection, email accounts, databases and application installation tools. Shared hosting is the more affordable option, although customers receive less hands-on WordPress optimization and application troubleshooting than they would with a fully managed WordPress package.
Managed Cloud VPS plans provide isolated virtual resources, SSD storage, root-level flexibility, proactive monitoring, DDoS protection and external disaster-recovery backups. BigScoots manages the server environment and operating system, making these plans suitable for websites and applications that require greater control without forcing the customer to employ a dedicated systems administrator.
Managed Dedicated Servers use company-owned physical hardware and include proactive management, DirectAdmin, local backup storage, SSL certificates, DDoS protection, IP addresses and migration assistance. Custom hardware configurations can be prepared for demanding databases, ecommerce applications, busy publishing platforms and high-traffic business websites.
The broader performance catalog includes Boost by BigScoots, which adds Enterprise CDN delivery, advanced caching, image optimization, security filtering and up to 500 GB of CDN traffic. Optimization Pro provides continuous Core Web Vitals work, CSS and code optimization, third-party service coordination and monthly performance monitoring.
Security Pro adds WordPress vulnerability monitoring, application-level protection, two-factor authentication, hardening, anti-spam controls and recurring security reporting. Enterprise Pro includes technical audits, priority engineering, performance improvements, staging-based changes and a monthly consultation with the technical team.
The WordPress Maintenance & Engineering service includes five development hours per month for work involving custom plugins, themes, Gutenberg, performance improvements and security testing. Headless WordPress is also available for decoupled WordPress projects, with the technical and commercial structure prepared according to the application’s requirements.
Reseller hosting, hybrid servers, colocation, external server management and IP transit are also included within the wider service framework. These are custom or legacy services rather than standardized retail products with current public pricing.
The company operates an English-language website with services priced in US dollars. The interface is modern, responsive and practical on desktop and mobile devices.
