📄 Editorial Review
Behostings is a Belgian hosting and cloud infrastructure provider operating under The Hosting Group - Diogenius SPRL. The business dates back to 2002, giving it more than two decades of experience with web hosting, servers and Internet infrastructure. Pierre-François Lareppe is the founder and manager associated with the company, while Diogenius SPRL was established on September 23, 2002. The company remains a relatively small Belgian operation, with a team in the 2–10 employee range. The company is based in Walloon Brabant and concentrates mainly on Belgium and the wider European market. Its infrastructure is primarily located in Belgium, supplemented by capacity in Lille, France. An important corporate development took place in 2020, when Behostings and Tinycluster were brought into the broader Diogenius structure, consolidating hosting, cloud and infrastructure activities within the same technical organization.
Behostings has a broad portfolio for a relatively small provider. Its services include Shared Hosting, Budget VPS, Cloud VPS, CloudLinux VPS, Dedicated Servers, Nextcloud Hosting, Managed Synology NAS, WordPress Hosting, Domain Registration and Server Colocation. Its own BGP network and multi-datacenter infrastructure give the company considerably more control over routing, server connectivity and redundancy than is typical for basic shared-hosting businesses.
Shared Hosting is Linux based and starts with 100 GB of SSD storage rather than very small entry-level quotas. The platform combines DirectAdmin, CloudLinux, Imunify360, PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, Node.js support, FTP/SFTP access, SSL certificates, automated backups and Installatron. CloudLinux isolates hosting accounts and allocates defined CPU and memory resources, while Imunify360 adds firewalling, malware protection and web application security. Email hosting is included with POP/IMAP access, webmail, forwarding, antispam and antivirus functions.
The shared-hosting packages scale from two websites and ten email accounts with StarterSSL to 25 websites and 100 mailboxes with Business. Storage increases from 100 GB to 500 GB, while monthly data transfer is unlimited throughout the range. A domain name is included for the first year with qualifying packages.
Budget VPS is the lower-cost virtual-server line and uses Proxmox KVM virtualization. Customers receive IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity, console access, operating-system reinstallation and support for custom ISO images. Linux templates include AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, Alpine and Arch Linux. The newer VPS generation uses AMD EPYC hardware, NVMe storage and high-capacity network connectivity.
Budget VPS uses local storage on an individual virtualization node, making it suitable for applications where price and raw performance are more important than infrastructure-level high availability. Customers needing additional resilience can move to the Cloud VPS platform.
Cloud VPS is built around a multi-node Proxmox/KVM cluster with shared ZFS storage and high-availability functionality. CPU and RAM allocations are more predictable than on the entry-level VPS platform, while shared storage allows virtual machines to be recovered through another host when necessary. Regular snapshots and remote-site replication make Cloud VPS better suited to production workloads where redundancy matters.
A separate CloudLinux + Imunify360 VPS range is intended for agencies, resellers and web professionals. These servers come with DirectAdmin, CloudLinux and Imunify360 already configured, removing the need to purchase and integrate the individual components separately. They support considerably larger numbers of hosting accounts and provide a useful middle ground between a completely unmanaged VPS and a ready-to-use professional hosting platform.
Dedicated Servers cover AMD Ryzen and Intel Xeon hardware, ranging from economical single-server configurations to storage-oriented machines and high-core-count dual-processor systems. NVMe and enterprise hard-disk configurations are available, together with 1 Gbps connectivity and higher-capacity network options where required. Much of the server hardware is based on Supermicro platforms.
Remote management is provided through IPMI/BMC and KVM-over-IP within a protected VPN environment. Dedicated-server customers can also use a separate LAN for backups, and 100 GB of FTP backup capacity is included with server packages. More extensive local and off-site backup options are available where longer retention or larger storage capacity is required.
Nextcloud Hosting is one of the more distinctive services in the portfolio and is suitable for organizations wanting European private-cloud storage without having to administer the Nextcloud platform themselves. Each customer receives an isolated instance with dedicated CPU, RAM and storage allocations. Contacts, Calendar, Notes, Tasks, Photos and Collabora Online are included, while additional Nextcloud applications can be installed when needed. Behostings handles platform software maintenance and updates.
Nextcloud storage ranges from hundreds of gigabytes to several terabytes. The underlying platform uses ZFS RAID-Z2 storage, while an optional remote replication service copies data between the BRU1 and BRU3 facilities and retains a 30-day snapshot history. This makes the service particularly relevant to European companies that want collaboration and file-storage infrastructure kept in Belgian datacenters.
Managed Synology NAS provides another specialized storage option. The service uses Synology Virtual DSM rather than assigning an individual physical appliance to every customer. Packages range from 4 TB through 32 TB and use RAID6-protected physical storage with SSD caching, a fixed IP address and 1 Gbps symmetric connectivity. Customers can select Belgian or French datacenter placement.
A dedicated WordPress Hosting package is also available with preinstalled WordPress, SSD storage, backups, email, automatic maintenance and WP-Rocket. It is more hands-off than conventional shared hosting and is appropriate for customers who primarily want to work inside the WordPress administration environment rather than manage the underlying hosting configuration.
For Domain Registration, Behostings supports Belgian and European extensions together with a broad selection of international gTLDs and ccTLDs. Important regional extensions such as .be and .eu are part of the domain portfolio, making domain registration a natural addition to the company's hosting services.
Server Colocation is available in Belgium. Pricing is calculated according to rack space, electrical consumption, bandwidth and public IPv4 requirements. Both volume-based and flat-rate bandwidth arrangements are available, including 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps connectivity, while IPv6 /48 allocations can be supplied where justified.
The website supports French and English, while the customer area includes a broader multilingual interface. Pricing is primarily offered in EUR. The French version is more complete and current across several product categories, while some English and older specialty sections retain previous layouts or earlier pricing. The current ordering system therefore remains the most relevant reference when confirming the final price of a configuration.
