📄 Editorial Review

awHost is a Polish hosting and infrastructure provider operating since 2010, with a strong specialization in virtual private servers, Windows hosting environments, gaming infrastructure, voice servers, and VPS-based website hosting. The business is operated by Andrzej Erenc under awHost Andrzej Erenc from Katowice, Poland, with NIP PL6342761484 and REGON 241715382.

Virtualization has been central to the company for most of its history. Earlier infrastructure used Citrix XenServer, while the present generation is based on KVM virtualization with Proxmox. awHost also operates its own Internet network identity under AS201112, which gives it direct control over IP resources and routing rather than limiting the business to simple reseller hosting.

The service range includes Linux VPS, FreeBSD VPS, Windows VPS, Sandbox VPS, VPS-based web hosting, TeamSpeak 3 hosting, MuOnline hosting, domain registration and transfer, and custom software development. The overall portfolio is much more VPS-oriented than that of a traditional shared-hosting company.

The main Linux VPS 2025 range uses KVM/Proxmox virtualization together with NVMe storage. Entry plans begin with 1 vCore, 2 GB ECC RAM and 20 GB NVMe storage, while larger configurations reach 4 vCores, 32 GB RAM and 180 GB NVMe storage. Storage can be expanded with additional capacity, and CPU resources can also be upgraded. Depending on the node, the infrastructure uses AMD Ryzen 3000, 5000, 7000 and 9000 series processors or Intel Xeon E-2200, E-2300 and E-2400 series CPUs.

Linux VPS servers use host systems connected through 10 Gbps network ports, with individual virtual servers receiving shared bandwidth of up to 250 Mbps and unmetered transfer. Each regular VPS includes a public IPv4 address, configurable reverse DNS, remote console access, operating-system reinstallation, rescue mode, backup restoration and snapshot functionality.

Backups are an important part of the VPS platform. Regular VPS services receive backups at least once per day, although backup jobs normally run every few hours. Recent restoration points are generally available for approximately the previous 24 hours.

Linux VPS memory allocation includes at least 80% guaranteed RAM, while the Windows VPS range provides 100% guaranteed RAM.

The Windows VPS family uses the same KVM/Proxmox foundation but starts with larger allocations because of the requirements of Windows Server. The smallest configuration includes 2 vCores, 2 GB ECC RAM and 40 GB NVMe storage, while larger options reach 32 GB RAM, 4 vCores and 180 GB NVMe. Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019 remain part of the hosting environment, so customers requiring a newer Windows Server release should confirm availability before ordering.

The Sandbox VPS family is designed as a lower-cost environment for development, testing, learning, home automation and private projects. The smallest Sandbox configuration includes 1 vCore, 1 GB ECC RAM and 10 GB NVMe storage, while higher plans provide more RAM and CPU resources. These servers still include a public IPv4 address and unmetered transfer, although network access is shared at up to 100 Mbps without a guaranteed throughput level.

Sandbox services have stricter usage policies than the regular VPS range. Cryptocurrency mining, intensive computational workloads, P2P services, public game servers, public voice servers, TOR, proxy services, port scanning and activities likely to create abuse reports or mailing-blacklist problems are prohibited. This makes Sandbox suitable for lightweight development and private applications rather than unrestricted production hosting.

One of the more distinctive services is web hosting based on an individual VPS rather than conventional shared hosting. Each customer receives dedicated VPS resources and a separate public IP address. This removes many of the account-level restrictions normally associated with shared hosting, including fixed limits on websites, domains, FTP users, mailboxes and databases.

The standard website-hosting environment uses VestaCP. The entry configuration includes 20 GB NVMe storage, 1 vCore, 2 GB RAM, unmetered transfer, a dedicated IPv4 address, anti-DDoS protection and frequent backups. A larger configuration provides 60 GB storage, 2 vCores and 8 GB RAM.

The VestaCP environment supports PHP versions from 5.6 through 8.3, making it suitable for both legacy PHP applications and considerably newer projects. VestaCP itself belongs to an older generation of hosting control panels, but the underlying VPS environment gives customers substantially more freedom than conventional shared hosting.

Alternative VPS images are available with Webmin and Virtualmin. Virtualmin handles domains, websites, email and databases, while Webmin provides broader Linux system administration. This combination is useful for customers who want graphical server management without giving up operating-system-level control.

Cockpit is another available management option. It provides browser-based Linux administration with terminal access, system logs, user management, firewall controls, software updates and system-performance monitoring. Cockpit is better suited to server administration than traditional shared-hosting management.

Gaming and voice hosting remain an important part of awHost's service range. TeamSpeak 3 can run on a preconfigured Debian VPS with dedicated virtual resources, NVMe storage, unmetered transfer, anti-DDoS protection and backups.

The specialized MuOnline service combines Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server and DDoS protection for customers operating MU Online game servers. Starter, Standard and Premium configurations target progressively larger installations and newer game versions. Server files and website licenses are separate and must be supplied under the appropriate third-party licensing terms.

Domain registration and transfer are handled directly through the customer system. Supported extensions include .pl, .com, .eu, .org, .biz, .net and numerous Polish second-level extensions.

Custom software development remains another part of the business. Technologies include PHP, Laravel, ReactJS, Doctrine, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, C#, ASP.NET Core MVC and Bootstrap. Development projects are individually quoted rather than sold as standardized hosting packages.

The main company website operates primarily in Polish. The customer panel supports a much broader selection of languages, including Arabic, Azerbaijani, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Persian, French, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Macedonian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian.

Hosting prices can be displayed in PLN and USD.

Some parts of the service ecosystem continue to use older software generations, especially VestaCP and Windows Server 2016/2019, while the VPS hardware platform itself is considerably newer. Modern Ryzen processors, Xeon E-2400 systems, NVMe storage and Proxmox/KVM provide a much more up-to-date infrastructure base.
