AVONET is an established Czech internet, telecommunications, hosting and managed-infrastructure provider with roots dating back to 1996. AVONET, s.r.o. was formally registered on January 1, 1997, following the start of operations in Luhačovice one year earlier. Dušan Máčalík and Tomáš Máčalík each hold a 50% ownership interest and serve as managing directors, while Václav Bureš is the executive director. The company has developed into a regional technology business with a team of almost 50 specialists.

Internet access, hosting, network security and data protection became central parts of the business during its early years. AVONET registered its own autonomous system in 2001, introduced replicated storage and VPS hosting in 2009, and moved its infrastructure into a professional data-center facility in Zlín in 2014. Later investments added high-availability virtualization, improved backup systems, redundant electrical infrastructure, 100 Gbps backbone connections and broader fiber coverage throughout the Zlín region.

Several acquisitions and mergers contributed to this development. TELEST became part of the company in 2014, bringing infrastructure with historical connections to the Baťa industrial telecommunications network. AVONET later integrated selected Netbox customers and expanded through AVONET online and AVONET works. SUPRO merged into AVONET on December 1, 2025, transferring its network operations, contractual rights and obligations to AVONET. The company entered its 30th year of operation in 2026.

Its service portfolio combines shared web hosting, VPS hosting, server housing, domain registration, SSL certificates, backup services, managed IT, internet connectivity, network monitoring and cybersecurity. The strongest proposition is the ability to combine hosting, connectivity and technical administration under one regional supplier rather than purchasing each service from a separate provider.

Shared web hosting is suitable for static websites, PHP applications and MySQL databases. Data transfer is unlimited, FTP access is included, and the hosting infrastructure uses redundant internet connectivity.

The Basic plan includes 500 MiB of storage and supports static or PHP-based websites. Economy increases the allocation to 1,000 MiB and adds MySQL, website statistics and one mailbox. Profi includes 2,000 MiB of storage, MySQL, visitor statistics and two mailboxes.

These packages work best for small company websites, presentation pages and lightweight regional projects. The storage allocations and mailbox limits are modest compared with modern mass-market hosting packages, making the service less suitable for media-heavy websites, large online stores or customers requiring many email accounts.

Content management systems such as Joomla and Drupal can be installed manually through FTP. The hosting information refers to PHP 7.4 or newer, while an older FAQ still includes references to PHP 5.6 and MySQL 5.6. Customers running WordPress, modern frameworks or applications with strict software requirements should confirm the active PHP and database versions before ordering.

Virtual Private Servers run on Citrix XenServer virtualization with HP and Supermicro hardware. Four standard configurations are available, beginning with one virtual CPU, 1 GB of RAM and 10 GB of storage and increasing to six virtual CPUs, 6 GB of RAM and 100 GB of storage.

Every VPS includes a public IPv4 address, root access, unlimited traffic and connectivity through a shared high-capacity network port. Ubuntu is the standard supported operating system. Administration is available through SSH, VNC and ISPConfig 3, while extra memory and storage can be added when required.

The VPS environment uses RAID-protected storage, regular replication to backup systems and an included daily VPS backup. This configuration provides a practical base for company websites, application servers, development environments and email systems that require more isolation than ordinary shared hosting.

Managed administration is available for customers who do not want to maintain Linux, web services, databases and mail servers independently. The administration packages include operating-system updates, troubleshooting and maintenance of the main server components. The highest service level adds continuous support availability.

Server Housing provides colocation for customer-owned servers in Zlín. The facility includes air conditioning, physical security, UPS protection, generator backup and redundant internet routes. AVONET can also assist with hardware installation, operating-system administration, monitoring and backup to its storage infrastructure.

The domain service includes Czech, Slovak, European and international extensions such as .cz, .sk, .eu, .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz and .us. AVONET also manages DNS zones, nameservers, ownership changes, transfers and regional third-level domains such as company.zlin.cz.

SSL certificates are available for websites, encrypted communication and other authentication requirements. Several certificate price levels are offered, although the certificate authority, validation category and warranty details should be confirmed for each individual product before purchase.

The website operates in Czech and all standard prices are displayed in Czech koruna. The service is therefore most convenient for Czech businesses, public institutions and regional customers that prefer local-language support and domestic billing.
