📄 Editorial Review
Afriregister Rwanda is the Rwandan operation of AFRIREGISTER S.A., an African domain registrar and hosting company established in 2007 by Victor Ciza. The parent company was incorporated in Burundi and maintains its corporate headquarters in Bujumbura. Afriregister completed its ICANN accreditation process in October 2007, becoming one of the first registrars of African origin to receive direct ICANN accreditation. It operates under IANA registrar ID 1381.Victor Ciza remains closely associated with the business as founder, owner and chairman of the board. Igor Ciza serves as managing director, supported by a technical organization that includes Technical Manager Michael Musya and Technical Team Leader Jonathan Gahamanyi. The company has expanded beyond Burundi through operations serving Rwanda, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, Chad, Sudan, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Benin and Senegal.
The Rwandan operation is well adapted to the local market. Prices are displayed in Rwandan francs, and the website is available in English, French and Kinyarwanda. This multilingual approach makes the ordering process more accessible to local companies, public institutions, nonprofit organizations and individual customers who prefer regional support rather than an English-only international platform.
Domain registration remains one of Afriregister’s main strengths. The catalog includes widely used international extensions such as .com, .net, .org, .xyz, .online, .website and .store, together with African extensions that can be more difficult to obtain through mainstream international registrars. The regional selection includes .rw, .co.rw, .net.rw, .org.rw, .bi and .africa, as well as country-code extensions from several other African markets.
Domain transfers use the standard authorization-code process, and bulk domain search and transfer tools are available for customers managing larger portfolios. WHOIS management and privacy-related options are available where supported by the relevant registry. Direct ICANN accreditation gives Afriregister more control over international domain registration and management than a hosting company operating only as a retail reseller.
The hosting catalog covers Linux shared hosting, email hosting, reseller hosting, website-building services and VPS packages. The shared hosting environment is based mainly on cPanel. Windows hosting, dedicated servers and colocation services are not part of the Rwandan product range.
The entry-level packages are designed for email accounts, domain management, landing pages and small websites. The DNS Management package includes 20 MB of storage, unlimited traffic and cPanel access without hosted databases or conventional mailboxes. AfriXYZ includes 500 MB of storage, five email accounts, one MySQL database, SSL and a complimentary .xyz domain. AfriOnline has similar resources and includes an eligible .online or .site domain.
Afri Lite includes 1 GB of storage, a MySQL database and two email accounts. The separate Email package provides 2 GB of storage and five mailboxes, while Afrilite500 includes 500 MB of storage, one database and five email accounts. These packages have modest resource limits but provide an inexpensive route to locally billed cPanel hosting.
The main shared hosting range provides more storage and considerably higher account limits. Economy includes 15 GB of storage, 20 MySQL databases, unlimited email accounts and hosting for one primary website. Customers ordering an eligible billing term can receive a .co.rw, .net.rw or .org.rw domain with the package.
Business increases the storage allocation to 30 GB, supports five additional domains and includes 1 GB of allocated memory. It also provides unlimited databases, unlimited email accounts, an eligible Rwandan domain and a PositiveSSL certificate.
Enterprise includes 50 GB of storage, 2 GB of memory and support for as many as 25 additional domains. Pro is the largest conventional shared hosting package, with 100 GB of storage, 2 GB of memory and support for up to 30 additional domains under a single cPanel account.
Reseller hosting is available for agencies and web professionals who want to host customer accounts under one service. The Bronze Reseller package acts as the entry point to this range. Storage allowances, bandwidth, the number of separate accounts, included licenses and backup limits should be confirmed before purchase because the reseller specifications are less detailed than those of the standard hosting packages.
Afriregister divides its virtual server range into Storage VPS and Cloud VPS configurations. Storage VPS packages prioritize larger SSD allocations, while Cloud VPS plans combine higher processor and memory limits with NVMe or standard SSD storage.
The smallest Storage VPS includes two virtual processors, 2 GB of RAM, 600 GB of SSD storage, a 200 Mbps connection and 32 TB of outgoing traffic. Larger Storage VPS configurations reach 16 virtual processors, 48 GB of RAM, 3.6 TB of SSD storage and a 1 Gbps port.
Cloud VPS configurations begin with four virtual processors and 4 GB of RAM. Customers can choose configurations using 100 GB of NVMe storage or 200 GB of conventional SSD storage. The largest published Cloud VPS configuration includes 20 virtual processors, 96 GB of RAM and either 400 GB of NVMe storage or 800 GB of SSD storage. Depending on the selected package, one to three snapshots are included.
VPS packages include unlimited incoming traffic, 32 TB of outgoing traffic, a PositiveSSL certificate and five cPanel accounts. The operating-system choices, virtualization platform, root-access conditions, server-management responsibilities and backup-retention periods require confirmation before deploying an important production service.
Afrisite is available for customers who want to create a website without working directly with code or a conventional content management system. The package includes an easy-to-customize website builder, unlimited pages, 500 MB of hosting storage, unlimited traffic, one MySQL database, five email accounts, cPanel and an eligible Rwandan domain.
The SSL catalog is unusually broad for a regional hosting company. It includes standard domain-validation certificates, wildcard certificates, multi-domain products, organization validation, extended validation, code-signing certificates and higher-level enterprise security products. Available certificate brands include Sectigo, Comodo, RapidSSL, GeoTrust, Thawte, DigiCert, Symantec and Certum.
The website uses a functional but dated catalog-style design. Navigation and ordering remain practical, including support for smaller screens, although the visual presentation is less polished than current cloud-service dashboards. Some product pages provide detailed specifications, while reseller and VPS management conditions require more direct clarification.
