The service is operated by Medusa Red Limited, a London company incorporated on November 19, 1998, under company number 03670836. Co-founder Helen Jiggins has remained closely involved with the technical side of the business, while Julian Paul Glover was also a director when Medusa Red Limited was incorporated.

The company has maintained a focused product range rather than expanding into VPS, dedicated servers, colocation or public cloud infrastructure. Its services are designed mainly for small businesses, independent professionals, consultants, tradespeople, clubs, charities and families that need reliable email and straightforward website hosting without managing complex server technology.

Custom email hosting is the central service. Every email package includes a domain name that remains free and is renewed for as long as the associated subscription stays active. Customers can also connect or transfer an existing domain. Domain registration, DNS configuration, mailbox setup and email-authentication records are handled as part of the service, making it suitable for users with limited technical experience.

Mailboxes work through webmail and standard desktop or mobile applications, including Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, Gmail mobile, iPhone and Android email clients.
