📄 Editorial Review
1dedic.ru, also known under the FirstDEDIC brand, is a Russian infrastructure provider focused primarily on dedicated servers and related data center services rather than conventional mass-market shared hosting. The FirstDEDIC project started on January 28, 2010, giving the business more than 16 years of operating history. Commercial activity is currently handled by АО «ЮНИКО» (AO UNIQO), a Russian company authorized to provide telematic and data-transmission services. AO UNIQO is also a Skolkovo resident and is included in the Russian hosting-provider registry. FirstDEDIC received the Hoster of the Year distinction in the Data Centers.RF 2024/2025 awards. The core service is Dedicated Servers, with several ways to obtain hardware. Customers can select ready-to-use machines, configure a server from individual components, use the server auction for discounted inventory, or choose specialized Intel Core, AMD Ryzen, Intel Xeon Scalable and AMD EPYC platforms. Ready servers are normally provisioned in approximately 5–30 minutes, while custom systems generally require 2–6 hours and can take up to 24 hours. Windows installations can require additional deployment time.
Intel Core and AMD Ryzen servers are particularly suitable for applications where high per-core performance matters, including databases, web applications, development platforms, game servers and 1C environments. AMD Ryzen configurations support IPMI, while Intel Core systems can use IP-KVM when hardware-level remote access is required.
Larger workloads can use Intel Xeon Scalable and AMD EPYC servers with substantially higher RAM and storage capacities. These configurations fit virtualization platforms, large databases, analytical workloads, enterprise applications and other environments where memory capacity, multiple CPU cores and redundant storage are more important than entry-level pricing.
GPU Servers are a substantial part of the product range. Hardware options include Nvidia L4, L40, L40S, RTX 6000 Ada, RTX 4090-class accelerators and H100 systems, including configurations with multiple GPUs. They are suitable for machine learning, LLM inference and training, CUDA workloads, scientific computation, VDI, 3D rendering, real-time video processing and data analytics. GPU servers operate from IXcellerate infrastructure in Moscow. GPU systems have a minimum one-month rental term, with longer 3, 6 and 12-month commitments also available.
Dedicated 1C servers are optimized around fast processors and SSD/NVMe storage for applications such as 1C:Accounting, 1C:Trade Management and larger 1C:ERP deployments. Remote USB security keys can be attached when required, and multiple servers can be interconnected through private VLANs to separate application, database and supporting infrastructure.
Dedicated gaming hardware is also available for customers who prefer physical servers rather than shared game-hosting environments. These systems provide full hardware resources and are suitable for projects requiring predictable CPU performance, large player populations or custom game-server stacks.
The server auction is useful when exact hardware specifications are less important than price. Selected servers enter an auction in which the monthly rental price decreases progressively until a customer orders the machine or the lot is removed. This can produce meaningful savings compared with newly configured hardware.
Standard dedicated-server service normally includes 24/7 basic technical support, one public IPv4 address, operating-system installation, migration assistance, custom ISO support, DNS management integration and IPMI or IP-KVM access where supported. Network options include unlimited 100 Mbps connectivity or a 1 Gbps port with 30 TB of traffic, with higher-speed connections available up to 10 Gbps and beyond for more demanding projects.
The broader infrastructure portfolio goes well beyond physical server rental. S3 Object Storage provides API-compatible object storage for backups, media libraries, application assets, logs and archival data. The service runs on redundant infrastructure in a Russian Tier III facility and does not charge separately for incoming or outgoing traffic. It is designed for object storage rather than active database volumes or operating-system disks.
Two backup services cover different requirements. Automatic Backup provides weekly full backups combined with daily differential copies stored separately from the production server. The standard package includes 300 GB and works well for straightforward server protection, although Windows and FreeBSD systems are excluded.
Cyber Backup provides a more advanced centralized environment supporting Windows, Linux, KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, databases and Microsoft applications. Backup jobs can protect complete machines, selected disks or individual files, while ransomware-oriented active protection adds another security layer.
Colocation allows customers to install their own physical servers in the Moscow infrastructure. Equipment can be colocated from 1U upward, with power, network connectivity, IP addressing and basic 24/7 assistance included according to the selected service. Additional connectivity and remote technical work can be ordered separately.
Advanced networking is another strong area. Customers can build private VLAN, VPU, Data Center Interconnect and EVPN multihoming environments, order additional IPv4 and IPv6 resources, use ports from 1 Gbps to 100 Gbps, and arrange still larger connections for specialized deployments. Customer-owned address space can be announced through AS29182, which is particularly useful for companies bringing their own IP resources into rented or colocated infrastructure.
Security services include DDoS-filtered connectivity using DDoS-Guard, covering network and transport-layer attacks with optional Layer 7 protection. BitNinja can also be installed on Linux dedicated servers, adding WAF functionality, malware scanning, brute-force protection, reputation filtering and automated threat detection.
Customers that prefer managed infrastructure can add Technical Project Support for system administration, monitoring, optimization and incident handling. Lite and Standard packages include allocated system-administrator time, while Highload support is individually scoped for more complex deployments. One-time technical assistance and monthly support packages are also available.
The service range additionally includes Exchange as a Service, providing managed Microsoft Exchange mailboxes, spam and malware filtering, shared calendars and migration assistance. Mailbox administration is handled through Hosting Controller, while ordering and billing remain integrated with the FirstDEDIC customer environment.
FirstDEDIC is therefore much more suitable for bare-metal infrastructure, GPU computing, private networking, colocation and managed server environments than for basic consumer hosting. Shared hosting and conventional VPS/VDS packages are not part of its current main service portfolio.
The website and customer environment are primarily Russian-language, and no complete multilingual/localized version exists. This makes the service considerably easier to use for Russian-speaking customers. Product prices and contractual billing are primarily handled in Russian rubles (RUB).
