📅 - Equinix (equinix.com), a provider of network-neutral data centers, said yesterday that it will commence a public offering of 3.5 million shares of common stock.
The company said it plans to use the proceeds from the offering to repay debt, pursue possible acquisitions and invest in capital expenditure. According to the company, Equinix stockholder STT Communications, a subsidiary of Singaporean telco carrier Singapore Technologies Telemedia, has agreed to purchase 916,500 of the 3.5 million shares in the offering at the public offering price. Equinix, based in Foster City, California, operates 13 Internet Business Exchange (IBX) Centers in five countries.
