The company said it is offering the promotion so that writers and journalists can experience the benefits of having their own Web sites.
"Freedom of the press is something we take seriously, and we think our offer of free Web site hosting for writers and journalists shows our support for that idea," said John Lee, marketing director of Hostway. "More importantly, it exemplifies our belief in the concept that every person will soon have a personal Web site to use as a basic platform for communication." The six-month hosting package is valued at more than $120. Hostway said the promotional offer is available to the first 1,000 qualifying writers. To qualify, journalists and freelance writers must submit one article with their byline published this year in print or online. Submissions are to be made to freepress@hostway.com
