Mar 3, 2004 : Via Net.Works Appoints Via Express Head
📅 - Internet service and Web hosting provider Via Net.Works (vianetworks.com) announced on Tuesday that it has appointed Fred Seibl to head the Via Express business unit, formed in January to target the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) market across all the company's business sectors. The Via Express unit, according to the company, sells service bundles that include Web hosting, security, voice and Internet access services to SMEs across Europe.
Prior to joining Via Net.Works, Seibl was the general manager for the central european home and small business customer segment for Dell (dell.com). He also served a ten year stint as director at Computer 2000 / Tech Data, a European IT distributor.
"Sometimes a combination of fortunate timing and the right attitude and skills makes a new hire a really exciting proposition for the business, and I think Fred Seibl is a great catch for us," says Rhett Williams, chief executive officer of Via Net.Works. "He is an IT-savvy sales driver with a great track record. With Fred in charge of VIA Express, he has a huge opportunity to make his mark by selling big business-style communications solutions at prices small businesses can afford."
Via Net.Works acquired Amen in January for seven million Euros, helping expand the company's customer base to 200,000.
