Jul 8, 2004 : Netcraft says 1&1, EV1 Grew Fastest

📅 July 8, 2004 - 1&1 Internet (oneandone.com -> ionos.com), EV1Servers (ev1servers.net) and The Planet (theplanet.com -> softlayer.com -> ibm.com) are ranked as the top 3 fastest growing Web hosting providers in the world, according to research and analysis firm Netcraft's (netcraft.com) Hosting Provider Server Count for the period stretching from October 2003 to April 2004. China Telecom (chinatelecom.com), Hetzner Online AG (hetzner.de -> hetzner.com), Affinity Internet (affinity.com -> hostinger.com) and Intergenia AG (integenia.de) occupied the fourth through seventh places on the list respectively.

According to Netcraft's data, 1&1 Internet added 21,886 servers over the six-month period. EV1Servers added 15,224 and The Planet gained 4,402. While 1&1 led in absolute terms, The Planet recorded the fastest growth percentage, increasing its total inventory of servers a whopping 239 percent.
Netcraft's data is based on the over 50 million hostnames covered by its monthly Web server survey.
