📅 August 15, 2007 - Australian Web hosting provider Hostworks (hostworks.com.au) announced on Tuesday it has signed a three-year contract with Australian News Channel (abc.net.au), the owner and operator of 24-hour news service Sky News.

Under the terms of the agreement, Hostworks will host the Sky News site, as well as provide the infrastructure to allow the news service to meet varying levels of demand when external events drive high traffic to its online service.

"Our contract with Hostworks places us in a position where we can change course and modify our offerings at short notice," says Angelos Frangopoulos CEO at the Australian News Channel. "Online news is a fast-growing market segment that is undergoing massive change."

Sky News is a 24-hour television news service that broadcasts to approximately 2.5 million homes and locations across Australia and New Zealand on the Foxtel, Austar, Optus and Neighbourhood Cable pay television networks and on the Sky Television Network in New Zealand.
