📅 September 23, 2008 - Web hosting provider Hostworks (hostworks.com.au), one of the larger players in the hosting market in Australia, announced on Tuesday that it has appointed management consultant Carlo Meneguzzi to head its new sales office in Melbourne.


According to the recent announcement, Meneguzzi will be responsible for expanding Hostworks' footprint in the Victorian market and to bring his "extensive experience" in applying technology and outsourced services to solve the business problems faced by organizations.

"Businesses are trying to get rid of the 'technology for technology's sake' mentality and the problem of trying to find and retain the right skills to manage these technologies," says Meneguzzi. "I am offering Hostworks' capabilities from a business challenge perspective. When you drill down, many companies have serious business issues that relate to being challenged or constrained by their technology infrastructure, capability or cost control. There are a range of drivers for companies that work with Hostworks, which include seeking to grow through expansion or to maximize profits by controlling costs."

Hostworks' sales and marketing director Klaus Bartosch says the company selected Meneguzzi because he provides the office with "sound business experience" and understands how Hostworks can help businesses solve their critical application problems.

Meneguzzi's management consultant experience includes working with companies at every level from strategic planning to tactical implementation, including putting structures, processes and people in place. Previous roles include working throughout the Asia Pacific region and launching off-shore companies in Australia, says the company.

Hostworks manages the availability, performance and running costs of its customers' critical business applications and has clients that include brands like Codan, Compass Group, News Digital Media, Network TEN, SEEK, Southern Cross View and Ticketek. Hostworks is a subsidiary of Broadcast Australia, which in turn is a wholly-owned business of Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group.

Macquarie Telecom recently announced it has expanded its business-grade ADSL 2+ network to more than 250 exchanges across Australia.
