📅 - Web hosting provider Defender Hosting (defenderhosting.com) announced on Wednesday that it has entered into an agreement to acquire virtual private server hosting provider PowerVPS (powervps.com), which will carry on as a stand-alone brand following the close of the deal.
Defender hosting says it has been providing hosting solutions since 2001, operating out of Equinix IBX data centers, and hosts dozens of game server companies on its network, which is built to deliver streaming video content. PowerVPS says the merger will enable it to share in Defender's economies of scale. The company expects to be the only VPS provider offering virtual private servers coast to coast, and intends to expand to an international location.
