Mar 9, 2005 : Globix Closes Merger with NEON

📅 - Web hosting and application management services provider Globix (globix.com) said on Tuesday that it had completed its merger with NEON Communications (neoninc.com), a provider of optical networking to carriers and large enterprise customers, first announced last July.

With the merger, NEON becomes a subsidiary of Globix, creating a technology services firm with 1,500 customers, a vertically integrated suite of services and a more diversified revenue base. According to Globix, the two companies combined for $110 million in revenue last year.
"Bringing Globix and NEON together was a natural fit," says Pete Stevenson, CEO of Globix. "With the NEON merger, Globix is better positioned to take advantage of opportunities to grow our business."
Data center locations for the newly merged company will be in New York, Atlanta, Santa Clara, California and London as well as remote data center and colocation sites integrated along NEON's fiber network in New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, northern New Jersey and throughout New England.
