Sep 7, 2005 : Web Host Vortech Buys RocketColo

📅 September 7, 2005 - Web hosting provider Vortech (vortechhosting.com -> hostinger.com) announced on Tuesday that it had acquired colocation and dedicated server provider RocketColo.net (rocketcolo.net).

Vortech says the acquisiton, completed Thursday, includes all of RocketColo's assets, including its network and servers. RocketColo is located in the same data center as Vortech, so the companies expect the transition to be smooth.

"We are hoping that by purchasing the assets of RocketColo, we will be able to grow our network and increase our customer base," said Vortech Inc owner Brad Pugh.

Vortech says it currently operates 9 mail servers, 40 Windows servers, 20 FreeBSD Systems and 8 MySQL servers, hosting more than 120,000 domains. New customers from RocketColo will be given an upgrade to 1000 GB of monthly bandwidth at no charge, and will have added connectivity to Progress Telecom, AT&T, Level(3), Sprint and Cogent.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
