Feb 1, 2006 : Data Center Supports Free Web Hosting

📅 February 1, 2006 - Philippines-based data center operator DCI (dci.ph) announced on Tuesday it has won a contract that will provide free Web hosting and development services for 30 small to medium-sized businesses in the Philippines.

The initiative is part of an SMB capacity building project started by the Department of Trade and Industry Export Development Council, the Philippine Trade and Training Center, the DBP Data Center and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

The 30 companies will undergo a five-day crash course on Web development, content management, animation and e-commerce to help expand their businesses to other markets in the Philippines and in other countries.

DCI will conduct the training and provide one year of Web hosting for the thirty companies. Approximately $700,000 will be spent on the training along with domain name registration for the participants' Web sites.
