📅 - Telecommunications service provider Equant (equant.com) announced on Tuesday it is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its partnership with reinsurance company Swiss Re.
Swiss Re does business from more than 70 offices in over 30 countries with about 8,800 employees providing risk transfer, risk financing and asset management to its global client base. In November 2005, Swiss Re announced it would acquire GE Insurance Solutions.
Equant's signed its first contract with Swiss Re in March 1996 covering the Frame Relay connection between Zürich and New York. By the end of that year, all Swiss Re worldwide locations were connected to the Equant network. Equant then added Remote Access Services to the solution to give network access to Swiss Re's remote users. Finally, the global network was migrated to Equant's IP VPN service based on Multi-Protocol Label Switching technology.
