Flexential Brings VMware Cloud Foundation 9 to Its Private Cloud
📅 - Flexential is moving its Hosted Private Cloud onto VMware Cloud Foundation 9, giving enterprises a managed route to newer VMware infrastructure without owning the hardware or running the underlying platform. The change reflects a wider shift among hosting providers: virtualization capacity is becoming less of the product, while operating the private cloud itself becomes the commercial service.
For infrastructure buyers, that shifts an old calculation. VMware environments have traditionally left enterprises choosing how much hardware, virtualization administration and lifecycle management they wanted to retain internally. Flexential is increasingly packaging those layers together. [...][... Check source for end of article ...]

📅 - Flexential Lands $800M for 130 MW U.S. Data Center Expansion - Flexential has secured an $800 million credit facility to finance more than 130 MW of new data center capacity across four U.S. markets, expanding projects in Atlanta, Portland and Denver. The debt package was oversubscribed and increased from an initial $500 million target, underscoring continued lender appetite for digital infrastructure despite sectorwide construction, power and financing pressures.
The financing gives Flexential a committed pool of capital for projects moving from planning through construction, rather than forcing the operator to arrange separate funding as each development advances. That matters in a data center market where customers increasingly expect capacity [...]
📅 - Flexential Plans 108 MW Dallas Data Center Expansion Over Multiple Phases - Flexential has acquired 110 acres in Kaufman County, Texas, laying groundwork for its largest Dallas-area data center campus as operators scramble for power, land, and capacity across one of the world's tightest colocation markets. The project stretches beyond expansion, exposing how infrastructure scarcity is reshaping enterprise deployment timelines, investment priorities, utility planning, and competitive positioning across Texas.
Flexential's decision to secure a large development site outside the core Dallas-Fort Worth footprint says as much about market constraints as it does about customer demand. Companies looking for large blocks of capacity increasingly face a difficult reality: [...]
📅 - Flexential Upgrades Data Center Network Backbone to 400 Gbps - Flexential has upgraded parts of its private backbone to 400 Gbps across 15 data centers in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver and Hillsboro, Oregon, giving customers access to 100 Gbps ports as artificial intelligence workloads, data replication and hybrid cloud traffic increasingly expose the limits of older network designs and slower provisioning models across major United States markets today.
The capacity increase is aimed less at making individual applications suddenly faster than at removing a growing choke point between data centers, cloud regions and carrier networks. Customers can purchase 100 Gbps access on a single port and use burstable capacity rather than assembling several smaller [...]
📅 - Flexential Adds Fifth Atlanta Data Center Amid Rising Demand - Flexential is adding another data center outside Atlanta, its fifth in the region, as demand for AI-ready infrastructure continues to reshape U.S. capacity planning. The company says the new Norcross facility will deliver 4.5 megawatts across 48,000 square feet, coming online by early 2028, and signals continued investor-backed expansion across key enterprise markets in the Southeast.
Atlanta keeps showing up in conversations about where compute should live. Not necessarily because it's flashy, but because it works - dense connectivity, relatively stable power access, and a growing enterprise base that doesn't want to depend entirely on Northern Virginia. Flexential is leaning into [...]
📅 - Flexential Boosts Transpacific Reach as Bifrost Cable Goes Live - Flexential is expanding its transpacific connectivity footprint following the activation of the Bifrost Cable System, a new high-capacity subsea route linking Southeast Asia directly to the U.S. West Coast. The cable, now ready for service, is the first to create a direct path from Singapore to North America, offering enterprises lower-latency transport for increasingly distributed digital workloads.
Spanning more than 12,500 miles, Bifrost is engineered to deliver up to 260 terabits per second of data capacity, positioning it among the highest-bandwidth submarine systems in operation across the Pacific. Its U.S. endpoint connects into Flexential's Hillsboro, Oregon data center campus, [...]
