SURF Taps Eurofiber Cloud Infra for Dutch AI Factory Hosting

📅 September 21, 2026 - SURF, the Dutch national research and education network organization, has selected data center and fiber infrastructure provider Eurofiber to house the Netherlands' first large scale AI Factory in Groningen, putting sovereign AI computing, power constraints and data center sustainability into the same infrastructure project. The facility is due in 2027, with its AI supercomputer expected online in early 2028.

The contract gives Eurofiber Cloud Infra, Eurofiber's data center business, responsibility for the high performance computing environment behind a national AI resource whose ambitions extend well beyond another colocation deployment.
