Sparkle Extends Quantum-Safe IPsec From Data Centers to Satellite

📅 September 4, 2026 - Sparkle and Hellas Sat have extended quantum safe protection from terrestrial data center links to a satellite connection between Greece and Cyprus, creating an end to end path of 72,000 kilometers. The deployment links Sparkle's Metamorfosis data center in Athens with Hellas Sat infrastructure in Cyprus, testing post quantum security directly across satellite and data center links.

For data center operators, the useful part is not the satellite novelty by itself. Sparkle and Hellas Sat had already validated quantum safe protection between two data centers in Greece.
