📅 June 16, 2006 - Server automation and virtualization software provider SWsoft (swsoft.com) announced on Friday it is now offering Plesk 7.6 for Windows, which includes more than 40 new features and updates for hosting providers and resellers that offer or plan to offer Windows-based hosting services.

SWsoft Plesk for Windows is used by hosting service providers to further simplify the complete management of hosted Windows servers through a powerful and reliable interface.

"SWsoft, with the feedback from numerous customers and partners including Microsoft, continues to develop dependable, secure and well-supported Windows-based control panels and automation at a range of attractive price points," says Kurt Daniel, VP of marketing and alliances for SWsoft. "Plesk 7.6 is a reflection of our growing open fusion initiative and our efforts to deliver the most advanced, complete and integrated solutions in the market."

New features of Plesk for Windows 7.6 include Native Components, which enables users to install Plesk on IIS instead of Apache, as well as use the JET database engine or Microsoft SQL server to store configuration data, integration with Virtuozzo and support for PHP 5, SiteBuilder 3.1 and 64-bit.

The worm, dubbed "Yamanner," infected a recipient's computer as soon as the email was opened. According to security software maker Symantec Corp, the virus then scanned contact lists for additional targets. The worm, containing JavaScript, has "New Graphic Site" in the subject field.
