📅 June 23, 2006 - Domain name and Web hosting provider Web.com (web.com ) announced on Thursday it has signed an agreement with interactive publisher and Navarre (navarre.com) subsidiary Encore (encoreusa.com), to sell its Web site creation software in retailers throughout the nation including Office Depot, CompUSA and Amazon.com.

"Web.com offers customers simple and powerful Web site software utilizing proprietary and patented technologies that allows them to easily design, create and post their Web site online in a matter of minutes," says Jeff Stibel, president and CEO of Web.com. "By leveraging Encore's impressive retail relationships, Web.com now has a strong presence among some of the top retailers in the world."

The company's Site Builder & Hosting Suite enables customers to register a domain name, build a Web site, and have it professionally hosted for a full year, free of charge. After the year of free service, customers will be billed a standard recurring monthly fee to maintain their Web site, hosting and domain name registration.

Web.com has also partnered with Google to offer a $75 credit towards Google AdWords included in every box to help consumers market their Web site. The product will be available next month in retailers with a suggested retail price of $99.99. Web.com will provide the Web site creation software including the Web hosting and domain registration, while Encore will provide the distribution, packaging and promotion through their retail partners.
