Nov, 2025 : Kubernetes to Retire Popular Ingress NGINX by March 2026

📅 November 17, 2025 - Kubernetes maintainers have formally started the countdown to retire Ingress NGINX, one of the most widely deployed Ingress controllers in the cloud-native ecosystem. The Kubernetes SIG Network and the Security Response Committee have confirmed that the project will move into best-effort maintenance until March 2026, after which it will no longer receive releases, bug fixes, or security patches.

Existing deployments will continue to function, but users are being urged to migrate to alternative solutions well before that date.
