📅 - At the Mobile World Congress, Amazon Web Services (AWS)has introduced two new infrastructure solutions designed to enhance the deployment of cloud-based telecom networks. The newly launched AWS Outposts servers for Cloud Radio Access Network (RAN) workloads and AWS Outposts racks for high-throughput, network-intensive workloads would allow telecom providers to extend AWS infrastructure to on-premises environments that require low latency, high throughput, and real-time performance.
These solutions will be widely available later this year and are optimized for critical applications such as 5G Core user plane function (UPF), RAN centralized unit (CU), and RAN distributed unit (DU).
