📅 - UK Web hosting provider Netcetera (netcetera.co.uk) announced on Tuesday it set to open the Isle of Man's largest data center facility in the Ballasalla Freeport, near Ronaldsway Airport.
"We are very excited to offer Isle of Man businesses a new choice in hosting services by opening the Island's most advanced and cost-effective facilities for housing IT infrastructure," says Peter Skelton, Netcetera's managing director. "For 10 years we've been providing a customer-focused and highly responsive service to Europe's leading companies, and now Isle of Man companies can benefit from the cost effectiveness of our technology and services."
Netcetera's new data centre holds a 700-plus rack hosting capacity, which is approximately equivalent to 28,000 servers. It offers a comprehensive range of Internet services, with an infrastructure that includes scalable and redundant power and cooling, fire protection systems, specialized heat and smoke sensors, raised flooring, 24-hour technical support and unmatched levels of security a controlled environment.
The Netcetera data center represents a £10 million investment in the Isle of Man. It is the company's first data center to be located on the island and will open in September 2006.
