Global IT Spending to Hit $5.74 Trillion by 2025, Driven by GenAI, Data Centers
📅 - According to Gartners latest projections, global IT spending is set to reach $5.74 trillion in 2025, up 9.3% from 2024. This surge is largely driven by investments in generative AI (GenAI) infrastructure, which is prompting considerable spending on data centers, servers, and related systems.
According to John-David Lovelock, Distinguished VP Analyst at Gartner, expenditures in server infrastructure, in particular, have surpassed previous increases in cloud and outsourced providers. The data center industry is poised for long-term development driven by AI's increasing computational needs, with server sales expected to soar from $134 billion in 2023 to over $257 billion by 2025.
