Jul 21, 2006 : TelCove Signs Deal With HiDHo
📅 - Telecommunications service provider TelCove (telecov.com) and data center solutions provider High Density Hosting (hidho.com), jointly announced on Friday it has signed a five year agreement valued at over half a million dollars for TelCove's Internet and Transport Services, including 200MB of Internet access via Ethernet. HiDHo will use TelCove's optical fiber-based, self-healing SONET technology to provide dual-entry connections to its data center hosting facility in Alpharetta, Georgia.
HiDHo's Alpharetta facility offers enterprises outsourced data center services for colocation, business continuity and disaster recovery, remote storage and managed VoIP solutions. The facility also offers the high quality, round-the-clock management and support, security, fire suppression and back-up power services. Unique to the Atlanta area, HiDHo offers a modular, liquid-cooled rack configuration for the latest, heat-intensive rack mounted equipment, as well as blade center and server racks.
"Our liquid-cooled rack configuration can cool up to 20 kilowatts per rack, versus a typical data center that can only offer 3 kilowatts per rack cooling configurations," says Robert Filipovich, CTO for HiDHo. "Other data center outsourcing providers, even those with recently built facilities, use the older, air-cooled down-flow fan based configurations and have to sell half-empty racks in order to cool customer equipment."
HiDHo is targeting customers requiring remote storage and colocation solutions for their local and remote locations that align to TelCove's 70 market footprint across the Eastern US. These customers offer applications that range from remote storage, storage area network and disaster recovery solutions to enterprise-wide managed VoIP systems.
