Zayo Study: 106% Surge in DDoS Attacks, $270K Loss per Incident
📅 - In its bi-annual Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Insights Report, Zayo Group, a worldwide supplier of communications infrastructure, said that it has seen a 106% spike in DDoS attack frequency from H2 2023. The survey also discovered that, at an average rate of $6,000 per minute, DDoS attacks cost unprotected firms over $270,000 every assault, with an average duration of 45 minutes, an increase of 18% from the same period last year.
A DDoS attack requires relatively little time, experience, or money to launch, and with the rise of AI, bot-based attacks have made it much simpler to launch attacks with more requests per second, more often, and more sustainedly, stated Zayo. 📅 - Yondr Group Secures Approval for Third Data Center at London Campus - On its Slough, London facility, Yondr Group, a worldwide developer, owner, and operator of hyperscale data centers, has received planning approval for a third building. The new data center will be built on the site of a former paint factory, joining the first one that was finished in July and the second one that is already being built.
It will be a component of Yondr's planned complex with a capacity of more than 100 megawatts, maintaining the West London location's status as one of the most well-known data center hubs in Europe and establishing Yondr as a major player in that market.
